I've watched Kpop Demon Hunters twice and I'm thinking of watching it again today

Aside from the serendipitous ensemble of a psychophilosophical spiral and sudden sickness—which is surprisingly not the first instance I’ve had of such this year—I’ve finished a second pass I was graciously granted for that contest entry I’d submitted earlier (and so edited in the extension I was originally saving for AO3), and am now gearing up to publish the first chapter of that six-month-/thousand-word-long endeavor tomorrow evening!

…I’d probably feel better than I do about it all if it weren’t for that aforementioned spiral—but the gratification is good nonetheless! (Now to figure out my next journal entry…)

I opened up one of my adult coloring books today and it was relaxing just coloring to color.

I'm still working on my comic Promised Memories. I've been able to do one page a week which feels like a good amount.

I just finished a chapter of my ongoing longfic. I'm finally getting into writing the scene that was the inspiration for the whole thing, a great many years after the idea first struck. So that's very exciting!!

Have also been spending a lot of time learning about computer networking and Linux and html. Just stuffing my brain full of tech stuff. It's been great fun.

And I saw the new Superman movie today! I honestly wasn't expecting to like it nearly as much as I did. DC may have figured out their winning movie formula finally, and the answer seems to be just being earnest about it.

Plotting out a crossover in my head between my favorite MMO and my favorite otome game while I'm cleaning my living room.

I've been transcribing some old family letters from my great-grandparents (mostly my great-grandfather) from 1939-1943, and it's been really interesting. I'm about a third of the way through the main bulk of the letters, although I'm 95% certain that we have the other half of the exchange somewhere.

(I also stumbled across the son of one of the people who sent condolence letters in 1943, who'd posted my great-grandmother's side of the exchange online, because the internet is magical!)

Poking at writing a KPop Demon Hunters fic, but I'm not sure I'll get it done.

Music: I've found some people to jam with! I got out my bass and everything seems to still work okay, including things like my fingers and shoulders.

Difficulty: I haven't played songs with other people in about 15 years, and I've only dug out the bass and noodled around once or twice since then. Also, I have never changed the strings on my bass, so it's probably about time.

PSA: If you are a serial hobby-set-asider, and your hobby involves anything with batteries, TAKE OUT YOUR BATTERIES. Eww. I salvaged one of the tuners but I can't even get the battery compartment of the older one open. I also need to get out the metronome and I'm kinda scared.

Meanwhile in cross stitch, I am still chugging along on Upon A Star:


I swear, I don't even like teal/blue that much. That was the stock Pedulla Rapture icon that I was able to find. My actual bass is, of course, purple. So is the next cross stitch project I'm going to start (but I gotta finish this one first).

Work sucks. I feel so stuck. The stuckness has spread to other areas of my life, as is tradition. I am trying to fight back but it's haaaaarrrrdd.

I also have to draw some refs for artfight because turns out it lets you just RUN IN MIDWAY THE EVENT HOLY SHIT and a lot of CS are doing artfight tie-ins and I have some characters without digital refs n stuff. N I need to submit some dirtkitty designs I made to make them official n stuff lmao. I have No idea if I have enough duckies for them all but I have Tons Of Art to submit n stuff. and I also have to catch up on my gywo goal lmaoooo

And I also sew now! and one of the dirtkitties I want to submit and make official is due to having made a Something Creature instead of a bunny lol

I'm making slow but steady progress on my violin. Playing from sheet music is difficult but I'm getting there. Having a little bit of experience on piano helps. I'm considering putting stickers on my fingerboard, but I don't know how much it'll help since I already started learning without them. What I really need is ear training.

I set the bingo card tracker aside because it does everything I currently need it to. I decided my art gallery page is more important. It's been updated to its new layout and every image in the thumbnail grid now has alt text.

Recently heard about Radio Free Fedi Fest. I'm hoping to catch one of the streams to check it out.

I've been getting through the Frontline Fifth's Harrow The Ninth readalong and have been trying to teach and reteach myself various solitaire games. My husband says that if I can figure out how to play cribbage and teach him he'll play.
