Otherwise, I've been working on one of my conlangs and trying to get my bedroom clean and organized. I have just a small part left - two book shelves and vacuuming in tight spots like the window frame and around my mattress.

The thing that's taking the longest is putting all my TBR books into Libib.com. Most them are in already, but I have to check, because I'm unable to stop buying books. And occasionally one has been read and needs to go in the general library instead of the TBR one.

I was gonna cut up the cardboard pile in the dining room & take that to the recycle place, but then I got distracted by all the OTHER mess in the dining room, so now the dining room is clean but it's blizzarding sleet outside, oops.

It's New Mexico. I'll do something else for three minutes & it'll stop.

I'm also writing a Patreon post, which is gonna be public because it has cat pictures & we all need those, so I'll link that here when it's done.

Currently procrastinating from knitting a hat. I lost my crafting mojo for a few days because I overdid it the week before--i worked hard on my Gansey Sweater because I thought we were going to go out for a family member's birthday, and I wanted to wear the sweater when we did. But then the pandemic happened and we didn't go. I'm almost done with the sweater, but yeah, it burned me out.

I need to get cracking though because the month is going quick, and I still haven't submitted anything for Nerdopolis. I hope to submit 5 items, but I don't know if it will be possibly.

Not crafting, but I've also been putting a lot of work on my fan script of the story from Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. I've been writing it up at althea_valara. It makes me happy.

I'm staying with my mom for the time being, and we did a lot of cleaning today to set up the rooms for our "doomsday bunker" - aka making the house habitable for when more siblings inevitably come to hide out here as well. Also last night I made banana bread to distract myself from the news.

I've started trying to write various stories in an attempt to cope with the whole...situation, but everything is fizzling at the moment. Maybe it's too soon to channel it into fiction, or I'm just too upset to focus enough for writing. Still, I'd like to write something - make the most of the time at home. (Not that I'm an especially social animal any of the time...)

the tutorial I was using said either (1) Soundcloud or (2) podfic dot com with direct link to mp3 on pick your hosting, see post on various possible hosting. I tried 2 first. it didn't work. then Soundcloud made a point of saying I should upload the lossless WAV (10MB), not the MP3 the other tutorial made a point of telling me should be 64kbps mono in order to conserve file size without noticeably losing quality. okay fine, except for how uploading the WAV took half an hour. for reference, the 500KB MP3 uploaded to both Dropbox and Google Drive in like ten seconds.

also I still don't like the sound of my own voice. but Socchan needed ten heart emoji to express eir delight at its existence, and now I have learned things, so yay!

I just baked some quick rolls for dinner, mini tuna sandwiches with tomato. I knit 1 row on my hat, lol. I also handled work stuff as needed from home. Im on call and work is transitioning our peeps to work from home rn. Lots of scheduling and it issues

This week has felt extremely long. I went from thinking I would be working in the office thru the week to having to buy + set up a computer + 2 monitors to transition to full remote work over 2 days. So that feels like a big accomplishment & a lot of new possibility, but it has been stressful & tiring.

I also bought a sketchbook & did a crafting video call with friends, which was fun & also motivated some room cleanup.

I successfully commissioned one fanart,but keep falling farther behind with a lot of other fandom projects, including Fandom Trumps Hate stuff. Next year I will definitely bite off less or make sure I have projects lined up, but this is my first time and this year is...yeah...

I've finished the striped afghan and have started on a Golden Girls cross-stitch pattern.

I've also rearranged my closet to give me space for a home office because we're probably going to shut the cube farm down soon. I need to go to the store to find a suitable table to set my irk compy on and order a backup battery as well.
