science! most of the lightning shown in this video was filmed at under thirty thousand frames per second, but even at 100K+ FPS and even while apparently filming only a side path that the lightning proper didn't take, the lightning connecting makes a bright enough flash to white out a few frames, and it is so cool, and it is so pretty (and the guys filming are amusing, though a couple of the jokes are cn alcohol)

I am so disappointed in the source of the "while you were [engaging in a disapproved-of activity], I studied the blade" meme

today this scene's gone from 0.1K placeholder to 0.5K and counting of scene

I had a video-chat with an old friend who wanted to learn how to make bread - and in the process of showing her my technique, I made the most perfect dough I've ever made. It's in the oven now and I'm very excited about it. The little things!

I've had a good couple of days this week where I was able to tear myself away from my MMO, and managed to do some knitting on a shawl, and crocheting on a top.

I got one scarf done and started another. If I get ambitious, I'm going to restart the complicated cross-stitch I gave up on a few months ago.

Good thing is this week I have three days off. Bad thing is that I took those three days off to go do A Thing with a friend whose since moved to Texas. Oh well, the Thing was cancelled anyway. But at least I have some days off to recover from "working in healthcare during a pandemic" stress.
