I am making good progress on Peeking Cats cross stitch pattern by Durene Jones. No pictures this week, maybe next time.

I still want to do the Geek Girl Capsule Wardrobe project. I seem to be using planning as an excuse to shirk the actual sewing. :( On the bright side I have several pages of requirements and use cases written out.

I have barely left the house in nearly 2 years and am bored out of my mind. I could really use some encouragement on making clothes - I've been blocked on that by the attitude of "why bother, I'm never going to go any place." Someone please tell me I'll be able to travel again someday...

I know that feeling! I'm a massive homebody and even I'm feeling shut in. But think of how nice new clothes will feel. And travel will be safe again at some point. My parents took a roadtrip near the start of the pandemic and were fine. It'll get fine again.

Last month, researchers from the Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine developed a new vaccine that they released patent-free to the entire world. This vaccine being patent-free means that the entire world can make and distribute it as needed, without paying outrageous sums or even culturally significant artifacts to predatory pharmaceutical companies in exchange. Lack of a patent-free vaccine was a major barrier to getting worldwide vaccination rates up, and this has the potential to close gaps where greed had previously encouraged the virus to spread and mutate.

We will absolutely be able to travel again someday.

On Wednesday, I finally finished a crocheted rainbow Amish puzzle ball that's been partially done for... gosh, at least a month, now, maybe two! It turned out great, and I'm currently side-eying any inclination to make more, because I have so many other things to make!

I also took a little time to make up a Cat of Arms for copperbadge/copperbadge.

I made a little headway on the novel so I'm happy and I have galley proofs I'm dragging my heels on. I better get moving before I get thumped

I'm still working on the big knitting project of my partner's robe. It's coming along nicely.

I also took some books out of an old chest and got rid of it. It was old and gross. But it's done.
