it has finally occurred to me to write a timeline of what's supposed to be going on at the gala when, according to the event planner's clipboard, and what it tells me is I screwed up

18h00 – 19h30 happy hour, silent auction
18h00 – 20h00 Nino DJing
20h00 – 20h45 dinner, opening remarks
20h45 – 21h30 dessert, presentation
21h30 – 00h00 dancing, Kitty Section performing

so Nino has to be there and set up to DJ before 18h00, which means the scene at Zoe's has to be before 18h00, and that scene at Zoe's has to be after another scene that is itself after "Adrien" and Lila depart for the gala, for a fashionably late arrival to the venue two blocks away

I finished a short story I'll submit today. I need some support on my two charity stories. I have too many irons in the fire really

I am making incredibly slow progress on the current cross stitch project. I keep finding bits where I've messed up.

I did have another go at the sewing challenge (test v-neck t-shirt) - I had enough spare fabric to cut another neckband piece, and I've puzzled through 1 of the 3 methods shown in the Threads article. Pinned the key bits in place, haven't committed to any stitching yet. It looks like method 2 from the article has already been done by the pattern, SHAME ABOUT THE INSTRUCTIONS THERE, sigh. I might have a go at method 3 or I may just go with when I've got. Difficulty, I'm sure I don't have enough extra fabric to cut out yet a third neckband piece of the same stuff.

I think I need support on having a life outside of work. I'm coming to accept that office life is never going to happen for me again, so I need something else to scratch that "stimulating environment" itch.

Yeah, that's tough. I'm back in office some, but only some, and I'm doing ok with that, but I spend much of my work time on video conference, which scratches some of that itch. J is really struggling with this one, to the extent that he's going into the office of his new corporate overlord tomorrow.
