Just Create - Convention Edition

Didn't see a check-in post up yet, so I thought I'd do it myself!

Yesterday, I dropped a bunch of crocheted critters off at a local convention's art show; I hope to pick up substantially fewer after work tomorrow.

I got a new print draft of my magic and mental illness zine done! And now I can rest a few days.

My sewing project (the v-neck t-shirt of doooooooooooom) had two steps forward and one step back:

I managed to create a recognizable and functional overlapped V band! ... and promptly sewed over one arm of the V and had to rip a bunch of stitches out. Oh well, I am definitely learning a lot. And my written notes are becoming quite comprehensive. :D

Then I did the topstitching and ran over an arm of the V again. This thing.

Looking for a tiny project to take camping next weekend. Might be time for Round 2 of the Pusheen kit but with a proper tapestry needle.

Ah, sewing woes. I had an icon in my LJ days from the original animated Grinch of Max's tail getting threaded in the Grinch's sewing machine that I think would be very relatable here!

Well, last weekend (the one before this most recent) I finished my mother's Xmas gift, which is https://www.pinterest.com/pin/galleryru-14-the-mushroom-tabernacle-chor-anfisa1--706642997754395904/ with a different color design (navy fabric, red bow ties, red border and tan corner thingies). Beads don't bother me (although the larger ones at the neckline might be a pain), and it's lots of colors but in large blocks, which is so much better than Elisabeth where it's confetti all the way (https://querki.net/u/jducoeur/cross-stitch-gallery/#!.3y286pi that's about 16" tall at this point, I have a picture with a pen for scale but haven't uploaded it yet)

Somewhat more than I was hoping for, I'm afraid 😂 But I sold three more on my way out the door, and I can actually close my crocheted critter chest without squishing anyone again, so that's something!

(My sales, if my memory/counting is correct: 4 stingrays, 5 octopuses, 3 corn, 2 hippos, and 6 flying pigs. I sold no dolphins (I should probably drop the price on them a bit, they're not moving at all) and nothing that was priced at over $10. Of which I didn't have much to start with, but still. Someone buy my dragon, gosh darnit!)
