Hey, it's the weekend again!

What have you been up to? What are you working on now? What are your plans? How are you doing?

Also I'm thinking of starting to host work-alongs. If I did, would people be interested and what platform would you prefer (Discord, Zoom or equivalant, Twitch, etc)?

I created a new community, kittens_and_spitefic! The basic premise is: Someone makes a post where they lie and say they hate something they actually want to see more of in whatever (or any) fandom, then other people "troll" the poster by replying to the post with examples of that very thing (fic, art, recommendations, etc) and/or with cat macros.

For example, Person A would write a post about how they hate it when kittens and puppies cuddle. Person B would respond to the post with a short story about puppies and kittens cuddling, Person C would respond to the post with photos of puppies and kittens cuddling, and Person D might respond to the post with a news story about puppies and kittens cuddling. Person A could then reply to all of them, and cuss them out for their trolling (then share their their true opinion hidden in ((double-parentheses)) or strikethrough or something).

There are only going to be one or two posts per month that are open to the public, since the premise of the comm seems prone to misunderstandings, but so far I've been having a blast, and it seems like everyone else has been, too! I've written one little ficbit for it so far, in a community-locked post, which I hope to crosspost to AO3 and/or my personal Dreamwidth account sometime in the next few days.

I JUST finished an artwork for an exchange! So I'm pleased with that.

I’ve been entirely obsessed with oldweb site building and pixel graphics it seems! To the point hyper focus has taken its toll on any other projects… I did sign up for a comics anthology though.

For wor-alongs I’ve usually used either twitch-streamers or streamed myself working, or gathered with our comic artist group on a jitsi call. Discord works too.

I'd be up for work alongs. I use Twitch and Discord a lot.

I am plugging away, hoping to finish a Halloween fic before Halloween.

So, I owe you all an update about the craft fair I tried doing. Emphasis "tried": it was a bust. Not very many shoppers, and most folks weren't buying, alas. I did make back my table fee, plus another $20, but all in all it was disappointing. Especially since I don't work and thus don't have other income at the moment. I was counting on some good sales to tide me over for the next few months. Oh well, at least I tried!

Since then, I've been doing some enjoyable crafting. I finished another crocheted basket that had been languishing for a while (it's filled with yarn now!) and worked on my Peppermint Swirl blanket.

I like the idea of work-alongs. Discord would work well for me.
