Just Do It Saturday

It's Saturday again, the day we all get the things done that we didn't do during the week! It's also a late Friday check-in, cuz I didn't do it yesterday.

What have you done this week? What are you working on today?

I need to pick up the house, do laundry, and sell on eBay. I spent all yesterday working in the garden and I'm SORE. Probably mostly from moving the three buckets of dirt, one of which was actually mud with half an inch of water on top, algae, and probably mosquito larva. And I'm not done in the garden yet.

I wanted to get the kitchen cleaned last night, but I didn't have the energy. (And by cleaned I mean, empty and load the dishwasher, picked up, and the sinks wiped out)

ALSO - do y'all mind if I roll in the check-ins with the weekly just create sessions? We don't get a ton of responses on either one.

re last paragraph: works for me

I should, like, actual adult responsibility things. Chore type stuff. Also I wanna more [community profile] dick_or_treat but the response the first piece has gotten is disheartening.

... not out of the ordinary, ratio-wise, for stuff I did before this fandom. Rather good, actually, by that standard! Just well below what I've apparently come to expect from this fandom...

After a bunch of tidying up/giving away/recycling stuff I can see the storeroom's floor again.

I learned how to knit this week! I have several inches of scarf, a testament to the length of my bus commute every day, but the motion is so soothing and I love feeling like I'm making something. (It's nice to feel creative on something that doesn't require a fickle muse like writing.)

Today I cleaned and tidied my room and am in the middle of my second load of laundry, and it feels so good to have my stuff straightened up!

Congrats on learning to knit! If you keep up with it, I suggest joining Ravelry - it's a website for knitters and crocheters that boasts a huge database of patterns. It's awesome, and is probably the reason I stuck with the crafts myself rather than give up.

Oh, thank you for the recommendation! I'm still a little intimidated about talking to other people who "actually" knit; all I know is the one stitch and how to make it row after row. I'd really like to learn more, but I'm sticking with easy things for now so that I don't lose patience with myself before I've had time to practice. :) (I honestly hardly know what a knitting pattern is.) But I will have to look into it!

I woke up at a decent time this morning and intended to get some knitting done, as we're hearing the end of the month which means the current round in my crafting competition is almost over and I've got to finish stuff so I can submit it. My mom had other ideas, though--my nephew is at a robotics competition this weekend and she wanted to watch the stream.

That took all morning, and then after lunch I played video games. I'm finally just now sitting down to knit. I estimate I have three to four hours left to go on this project, and am hoping to finish today.

I spent the entire day yesterday in my booth at the Albuquerque Ren Faire, but I got a LOT done today, which is nice! Good to see people checking in!

78F was the high in Albuquerque yesterday. Tomorrow in Thoreau it's forecast to be 64F. I reeeeally prefer living at high altitudes & the cooth is a LOT of the reason why.

... on the other hand I didn't make the same show, same weekend, two years ago, because I woke up to a foot of snow in my driveway, so. There's that.
