I’m just excited to share that my friends 40th birthday was a smash last night! 10 good friends hanging out till 1 in the morning; I haven’t stayed up that late on purpose in years! I also fried chicken from scratch for Chicken ‘n Waffles - so incredibly good!

Current Creative Goal: I’m hosting an open prompt call for writing inspiration with the theme “Chill Out” through the end of the weekend. I’m then writing my fills through the next week. Please join me if you’d like!

Yay, sounds amazing! :D I want my 40th birthday to be this much fun - I haven't had a birthday party for far too many years, but I still have a year and a few months until I'm 40, so maybe. :D

I'm a Birthday person! I always celebrate mine in some fashion and encourage my friends to celebrate theirs too. Most are willing to do at least a little something for the big full decade birthdays like 30, 40, etc.

The party was "Addams Family" themed and based on your icon you may enjoy this - I did a recreation of Wednesday and Enid's window in the living room. My friend did a squee! when she saw this:

And I need to get myself a friend like you. xD I don't need convincing, I want all big (THEMED! :D) birthdays all the time, but for some reason there's exactly one person in real life who I know will want to spend the day with me, so we mostly just go somewhere and there's no party. And now I feel very motivated to make a huge dorky fannish 40th birthday happen! :D

I worked on Edith Wolford (https://www.ebay.com/itm/225003900487), which is SO CLOSE. I'm just working on the very bottom, with 3 of 5 stems just about complete and filling in the bottom of the purple petal.

I'm also starting to think seriously about what shopping I need to do at Celebrations of Needlework. So far, fabric for Royal Games I (Mirabilia) and Ruby Pansies (Silver Lining), threads for 3+ Xmas ornies from a JCS ornie issue, and we'll see if I decide I also want to get stuff for Brooke's Books Cinderella dress.

What a beautiful cross stitch design! I'd love to see your finished project. I also googled "Celebrations of Needlework" because I'd never heard of it before - what an exciting sounding craft show! Do you have to travel far to attend?

I'm so far behind in updating my website, because it's slightly fiddly (my husband built the platform, and has never quite gotten its usability where it needs to be).

Celebrations is a bit over an hour drive, so I normally just go up for an afternoon for shopping, as fabric and overdyed threads are generally pretty well represented, although I normally pick up a few patterns too ;)

Mostly just drawing my exchange assignments (only one is due in February, but already three in March :D), and making random graphics for fandom_empire, fan_flashworks and such. :) And one of my drawings (playlistexchange assignment, Wednesday & Enid from Wednesday) got revealed today. :D
