I am working on the memory quilt. I have perfected my shirt-dissection technique just in time to run out of shirts to do. Meanwhile I'm thinking about different designs for the quilt top...
My plan is to cut everything into either 6" or 7" squares, then see if they would look okay as half-square triangles (HSTs). If the triangles won't break up the prints too much, I'll turn everything into those; otherwise, I'll just use squares. I am half-seriously considering just tossing all the squares up in the air & putting them back together however they come down.
More seriously I am considering doing a supernova star pattern if it will look even remotely good.
The nice thing about HSTs is you can do so many things with them. I'm hoping they'll also help stabilize some of the softer fabrics that I have to work with.
