I have made some design progress on the memory quilt. I did some mock-ups and the half-square triangles are going to be fine. I will need to make some 7" templates for cutting strips and squares for those.

Today I also sewed some of the offcuts to make sure the different fabrics won't actually be impossible. This will also be fine. I was so tired I sewed the wrong sides together on one of the experiments instead of right sides together, sigh.

I am struggling with perhaps more than the usual levels of brain fog. But how would I know?

I'm also hesitant to post anything on Facebook - that's where my relatives are, and I was kind of waiting for the ACTUAL next-of-kin to post about the death, which as far as I know she hasn't. So I feel extremely weird about announcing it in this way (or at all).

I will try and remember to post some pictures here. I got a new phone so I can take pictures again!

working on my spook me and fandom trumps hate stories and I need to fix my cosplay for Tsubasacon this coming weekend (and clean the house for a visit from mom the weekend after)

I'm doing Edalyn Clawthorne (The Owl House) in her Pajamas (because otherwise she wears heels I couldn't pull off and a dress I'd have to make vs closet play)

Oh, thanks for indulging my curiosity about your cosplay! I googled her and yeah, I see what you mean about the heels. Pajamas sound good and her hair is very distinctive, too. Much fun with her cosplay to you! :D

Haha, I am not surprised about the hair!

I have not seen much anime and only read one manga series but from what I have seen, both anime and manga hair is awesome but often defies gravity and the general laws of physics. :D

Yes indeed anime/manga hair definitely defies the laws of physics. What I needed was the hairspray of my youth. Aquanet could defy physics too

Is Aquanet no longer for sale? One of my goth friends told me to use sugar water for making a mowhawk hairstyle but I have no idea how it works.

haha you know what Aquanet IS for sale on Amazon. For my 80s Mohawk I used aquanet and mousse. Hmm sugar water...that would be doable. Off to YT that one

I will. I mean it makes sense. It probably uses a hair dryer to crystallize the sugar making it hard

Yes, I am 100% sure he mentioned heavy use of the hair dryer and based on timelines, it was probably a hairdryer like they used to make, with really hot air.

Hm, time zones don't work in my favour in this comm. I was refreshing the comm all weekend but when I finally saw the post, it was already Monday. Oh well. I am using this post to outline plans for next weekend, then. :D

My main goal for next weekend is to do some more work on a very long penpal letter that I have started this past weekend. This penpal's letters usually take me a month to finish but I am determined to make it quicker this time.

I would also like to mend my rain jacket and potentially declutter my books but those are secondary to the penpal letter. ;-)

I wrote on the long letter for about an hour yesterday and made some good progress. However, today I checked my po box and 3 new letters arrived, haha! Now I have to think about whether I interrupt writing on the long letter to send out quick replies to those 3 shorter letters (or some of them at least) or else I risk falling behind immensely. Hm. Not sure yet, time will tell. At least I know I am not going to run out of letters to write, which is very fun. :D

Mostly I have one friend from the 80s who can't do online so I write to her (My nerve damaged hand makes writing a little hard unfortunately) I do holiday cards still though.

I do miss getting letters in the box though
