(I'm cutting the cats' nails this weekend - Spooky's are done and she was NOT happy)

What are you working on? What have you finished? What do you need encouragement on?

Are there any cool events or challenges happening that you want to hype?

What do you just want to talk about?

What have you been watching or reading?

Chores and other not-fun things count!

Remember to encourage other commenters and we have a discord where we can do work-alongs and chat, linked in the sticky

I started physical therapy for a strained rotator cuff. Of course we got wintry mix the one day I had to go anywhere!

I have been doing bits of small things. I should post my February bullet journal habit tracker pages. I don't usually do a lot with decoration, but I have some more space this time and I think I made this one really cute.

Good luck with journaling!

Good luck with the PT. I've blown out both shoulders so I'm familiar with the routine. Hurts while you're there but it really helped (me at least and hoping you too)

I nearly hit all of my daily creative goals/chores for this week! SOMEHOW....

I didn't read as much as I hoped :( I want to go back to Nietzsche!

But I did watch a little of Invasion of the Astro Monster. It's not great so far but only because the kaiju haven't shown up to fight.

I made icons for practice/fun.

Also good luck to you with the nail cutting, and good job to Spooky for being a good/brave kitty.

Current stats for art/creative stuff/End of the week results:
-Finalized the general character design for one of the characters in my comic book
-Narrowed down my final robot designs for the comic book
-Editted the comic book breakdowns, making my comic go from being 12 pages long to 9 pages :)
-Fiddled with the outline some more for a more coherent story

Wow, that is a lot! Go you!

I just rewatched "A Fish Called Wanda", which has a running gag about a character reading Nietzsche, and now I can't stop giggling any time the topic comes up.

Spent the weekend trying to get my head round coding a MIDI master clock where it turns off its internal clock in favour of an optional external clock. It's for my computerless/DAWless music tools project.

Brain broken for the time being.

Why an external clock for a master clock? The project is intended to be used to record the MIDI data, including clock to my 4x oversampling digital recorder, allowing me to lock down a composition but still allow performance dynamics by recording only the "music notation" and having the synth knobs free to play with, making unique performances. Essentially multitrack data recording.

Why? The Sir Edmund Hillary reason.

My brain hurts, but it'll be worth it if it works and, unlike Everest, it doesn't want to kill me.

I love the idea of multitrack data recording! Good luck, that sounds so cool.

Thanks, yeah, it seems like a cool halfway idea between using DAW (which can get in the way of creativity, even if recording MIDI data, just because mixing and post becomes like an office job, it's task and keyboard focused, not performative) and audio recording on an actual recorder, which being more tactile and performative, especially at mixdown, once the audio is recorded, that's it, it can never change. By recording the note data only, the performance can be rehearsed over and over. Kind of solves the big problems of both styles of music recording. I'm sure it'll have its own unique problems, but hey, it's the challenge :D and using MIDI like it's a 1980s tape dump has a retro cool :D

Today, I finished a latch hook project that I have been working on for a while. Latch hook is usually good for for my CFS addled brain, but this one was printed incorrectly, and didn't really have a chart, so I was having to make DECISIONS on where things went for too much of it. I also finished darning a sock.

Ohh, bad instructions are the pits! Yay for finishing it in spite of all that.

And yay for finishing the sock! Finishing things is such a good feeling.

oh, I love those. x.x When you have to treat the printed piece more like a counted cross-stitch and make up the pattern yourself so that it makes sense. ugh. -_- Although I do like the rhythm of latch hook very much. What size + image are you going for?

This piece is 18x24, and is titled Cameo Rose. I prefer smaller patterns. I've worked on various patterns over the years, and even designed a few. The next latch hook project is more of a Middle-East rug pattern, and I get to choose the colorway. But I think that I'll be spending the rest of this month mending; I have a large pile of socks that want darning, and a few other things to fix before they become unrepairable.

The movers came Friday. I'm exhausted and plan to sleep in a little bit. Tomorrow, it's back to the old place to pack more and clean.

Brave you to clip the cat's claws. Mine won't even let me consider it.

I did not start chemo on Friday, which left me free to deal with Drama this weekend. Not the fun kind. I shall spend some time vegging to recover. On the other hand, I had a mad fit of cleaning Thursday night that left me with free time for Drama-dealing and subsequent vegging.

You have a Spooky cat, too! Mine is a very old man with brindly yellow fur and red nose. Vet says he's probably ~15yo, FIV positive, and his teeth are broken. He acts like he had an indoor home before, so he was likely dumped at some point. He's such a GOOD boy.

Spent way too much time making a new community on here for Swap-bot.com members. Anyone on Swap-bot can join. It's a site to swap stuff like craft supplies, snail mail, letters, small art, whatever. Y'all are invited, too! SB is free. Just a bit outdated, code-wise. Otherwise, trying to finish up hand-sewn small projects like patchwork items. I'm going to *try* to get 12 half-made projects done this year, in addition to whatever new things I'm starting.
