What are you working on? What have you finished? What do you need encouragement on?

Are there any cool events or challenges happening that you want to hype?

What do you just want to talk about?

What have you been watching or reading?

Chores and other not-fun things count!

Remember to encourage other commenters and we have a discord where we can do work-alongs and chat, linked in the sticky

I am working on finishing my tiny cat plushy that will be my desk buddy. I had the knitting done already & this evening I stuffed it & sewed it shut. I also shaped the ears & attached the tail. I also embroidered the eyes but I'm struggling to finish the rest of the face.

I've been listening to the critical magic theory podcast which is a college professor talking about harry potter characters critically. He also sends out & then goes over the results of a survey with his audience which is really interesting. I'm enjoying it.

I am TRYING to work on my new cross stitch project (it's called Deer Trail, not Deer Path as I wrote last week). Unfortunately, the green Aida is more of a Christmas green than a forest green, and it goes downhill from there. I might have 3 shades of green sorted out but I'm dubious so I'm leaving it til morning. Maybe Monday or Tuesday morning at this point.

Also I'm home alone with 2 cats which is a bit stressful and distracting. Happily Mr Diane is flying home tomorrow! Sadly this means another day of mostly driving. But! Having had a bit of warning, and Sunday traffic being (hopefully) less concentrated evil, I'm planning some shopping on the way there. Both a Jo-Ann (if it's not completely picked over) AND a REAL fabric store. Plus Costco. I may be insane.

Reading: I accidentally took over my office book club last month by suggesting we read some selections from N.K. Jemisin's awesome How Long 'Til Black Future Month?. We had fun! I've already suggested Katie Porter's I Swear for Women's History Month. I'm such a troublemaker.

Hurt my left shoulder. Not sure when I'll get back to writing.

Have been blogging a bit this week. So much shit in the world. Writing about it helps and also reminds me of the secular blessings in my life.

Managed to work out most of the chassis design problems for my HO scale TGR DP Class rail motor. Will soon be able to send the STL file to China and receive a pair of shiny aluminium parts a few weeks later.

I'm embarking on a plan to upgrade my ride this week, graduating from 2 wheel, younger person's bicycle, to 3 wheels recumbent older person's tricycle. A rite of passage, but also a first custom frame build purchase. Sadly becoming a necessity for health reasons but gloriously a realisation of a 30 year desire for head up, feet first, go cart riding.

In the immortal words of Freddy Mercury, don't stop me now.

I've been reading The Secret History of Bigfoot: In Search of a North American Monster and it's really well researched and really well written, very funny.

I decided to make a bunch of these granny square chickens to give out at my summer job in July… trying to make as many as I can.

I haven't written anything in ages but I've gotta forgive myself for that. There's a lot going on at work right now that's really beating me down.

I've been very busy, but projects are coming along slowly. I also started taking my sketchbook with me more often so I can get more drawing in. Besides that, I'm trying to rest more.

I got a bid in Fandom Trumps Hate, which is exciting. I honestly wasn't expecting to get any because my fandoms don't seem very popular there.

I'm also working on setting up a reading list to consolidate some old lists I want to delete. I'm probably overcomplicating it, but at least I'm having fun.

I thrifted a shirt recently with the intention of cutting it up for patchwork, but instead I decided to do some alterations to it - remove the collar and alter the sleeves a bit - and add it to my wardrobe instead, as it's a perfect shade of purple. I finished all the basting and pinning last night, all that is needed is about 15 minutes on my sewing machine. I can't quite force myself to get over that last stretch though. Perhaps tomorrow after work.
