It has been 1 week since I comicked but I gave myself a drawing injury so I focused on other stuff: Namely adulting and analyzing cool stuff I've been consuming.

Read more Sonic the Comic and am watching Tim Burton's Batman in parts.

Last night Mom and I watched the BBC version of Antique's Roadshow and I sketched out a whole bunch of my Story Sparks cards, which is a project I've poked at since college, but always got stymied by the more abstract cards. This version seems promising.

Other than that, I could really use some encouragement to do chores this weekend because they really need to get done and I have zero energy to do that.

I'm making progress on one cross stitch project: Upon A Star, which will have a wolf and some trees and a moon. So far it has some bits of some trees. It's a bit annoying to work on: the fabric is black, one of the colours of thread is very dark, and the days have been soooooo gloomy. But it's so pretty.

I have made zero progress on the WIP of the '60s mod fashion lady because of the annoying backstitch.

I did indeed go on the hike last week. We saw some cool butterflies. Today I walked into town to drop off some mending and found myself watching our town's (very small) Pride parade. I saw a sign that said "Pride is important because someone still thinks it's better to be dead than to be gay" and I started crying. A stranger from the parade came over and asked if I was okay. They gave me a hug and a flag. It was heartening to see so many people walking in the parade, but also heartbreaking thinking about everything going on in the world. Which I guess is still better than just being numb to it all.

I'm working on a quilt. And, because I'd forgotten that I was doing something slightly different from the written instructions (this was put aside a few years ago), I also have four completed squares that are going to be a cushion cover. Today's goal is to recreate those four squares in the right size, and maybe pull fabric for the next few.

Can you write notes on the instructions for Future You, in case you have to set it aside again?

It is a gorgeous set of colours, so I'm very much attempting to exactly recreate (somewhat easy, because I've only used a tiny bit of each of the fabrics, so I have spare, I just have to find them).

And making a note is a good thought -- I'll add that to the pattern notes!

I'm teaching myself how to cross-stitch. My super simple nazar design is almost done so I need to sit down and graph out my next thing, which is my name with this neon letters pattern. I bought the supplies I need but haven't had the mental energy to sit down and chart it.

I have 10½ [work] days left of the school year and I cannot wait. I've been an educator for ~13 years now and this has been the worst school year of my career. (Admittedly, I got laid off and missed the 2020-2021 school year, so…)

I feel you. It was a rough teaching semester at my uni too

After having worked very single-mindedly on my Marie-Claude series of shorts (20K words as of today, in three weeks!), I'm really looking forward to getting feedback and corrections on my The Lover of Lilith story, so I can start fixing that one up before we really kick into writing gear, my girlfriend and I, after the first week of July.

I've decided that once I get notes back on TLOL, I will put aside a week or two to write some companion pieces as seen from Mary's point of view. Could be a fun thing for rainbowfic! I already have the colors picked out!

My editor has given me a timeframe that says before the end of June, so she still has a few weeks to work with - and I a few weeks to wait, but that's all right. I think. If the wait and anticipation doesn't kill me. I've never had anyone professional look at my English writings before...

I mentioned here a couple weeks ago that I was doing a personal art challenge ( masterpost link ) -- it's going reasonably well. I've posted new art every day in June so far, and of course today's the half-way mark.

Bit disappointing that they're not getting more likes (on the services posted to that do that), but it's not like I'm actively promoting, wasn't really the point. There've been a couple of hitches (I was injured earlier this month) and I'm not sure I'll be able to fill out the month. Still working on it, tho.

Been working on more Stuff for my Games; Mostly some visual Asset stuff at the Moment and Will be very excited to get them actually functioning as Sprites! ALso been trying to touch up the Story as well and break down the Writer Blocks it's been giving me.
