I finished writing the poems from the last Poetry Fishbowl. The unsold poetry list is up. \o/

August is the Crime Classics fest in allbingo. September will be the Piracy Bingo Fest.

I'm finishing my project for iddyiddybangbang. A scene towards the middle of the fic is giving me a lot of trouble but the rest of the story is mostly done.

What are you working on?
Currently I'm working on a shawl using a pattern from Hobbi. The whole thing will probably be around 2 meters long - it's going to take ages.


What have you been watching or reading?
Been watching Countdown (Jensen Ackles? Yes please.) and Wednesday. Currently caught up on both, and I absolutely hate waiting for new episodes, ugh.
For the last few months I've been binge-ing drama podcast after drama podcast. Then I hit the absolute peak on that with Edict Zero, and I'm still not over the hangover a month later. It's so damn good.

Also, hi, I'm new. I've decided I need to meet new people and I love knitting, so here we are. Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Hello! And good luck on the knitting! I remember the first time I made a shawl I was kind of shocked at how HUGE they are when spread out... I don't wear them myself and they look so much smaller when someone is wearing them!

Thank you! After over ten years I've given up hope I'll ever be a fast knitter.

The intended size is usually mentioned in the pattern, so that's not really a surprise. It's more the fact that it's going to use up all my 1600m of yarn that's... yeah. That's over one and a half kilometers. That's over a mile!

I'm working on fixing the hem of a pair of lounge pants. I'm doing them by hand and I'm almost done with one leg. I'm still a slow beginning sewer so any encouragement or tips are appreciated

Taskmaster, an older season & the anime Fire Force. I've been reading The Reaction (early animorphs book) & I'm in the middle of Ascendance of a Bookworm, a light novel series that I have stalled out on as my library is missing 2 on the middle of the series.

I made another version of parm crusted chicken tenders at home. I used mayo instead of egg as the dredge. It was very tasty but not very crispy.

I also gave my dog a bath and brush which he needed.

I just finished quilting my first quilt made primarily out of used men's shirts, and now I am sewing on the binding. I have to say the fabric is much harder to work with, but the result is still very satisfying, even if it's a little wonky. And I have a friend that this quilt is going to, and the friend seems extremely excited about it, so that's definitely a bonus.

I'm currently working on a novella/longer short story in diary-format that follows a French foreign correspondent's work and life in Dakar, Senegal. It's part of a larger universe that my girlfriend and I are writing in and I hope it will eventually lead up to the sequel to the novella we're publishing later this year or early next year. Very excited about it. The process is a bit frustrating with this one, compared to the one I collaborated on with my gf, but I still really like the result, so I'll just have to survive the little internal battles and constant self-doubt.

Mostly I'm fighting to keep my focus and not let myself stray to a ton of other projects I've got stocked up and that's hard, but having the publishing thing waiting ahead does make it a bit easier to stay motivated for this particular universe.

However, I'm really liking the character I'm writing for, so that helps.

Still drawing daily, had a HARD week at work so didn't get too much else done. Spent a lot of time after work just laying on the couch and recuperating from my work days...

This coming week I plan to thin my summer/fall planting of turnips on my garden, continue unpacking from my move (I slacked off on unpacking the past couple weekends because I wanted to get the garden in at my new house while it was still early enough in the year to plant a few things :) ) and also take the time on my birthday to make myself an extra nice self-indulgent drawing!

Also just found out I can get ALL the Animorphs audiobooks through my library so I'm excited to revisit that series while I get things done!

What are you working on? What have you finished? What do you need encouragement on? I've been coding a lot of webpages for fun, I recently finished crocheting a whole shirt but even though it is shirt shaped, it's not very flattering. :/

I need encouragement to make new art pieces, to watercolor again. I want to but the motivation isn't there.

What do you just want to talk about? Right now? I'm obsessed with The Matrix. lol And I'm rewatching Neon Genesis Evangelion.

What have you been watching or reading? See above. But also Sense8 for the first time, which I'm loving. And I finished but am still obsessed with the Southern Reach series by Jeff Vandermeer. I want to reread them even though I just read them all in the past few months. lol

Chores and other not-fun things count! I gave the dog who belongs to my mother in law to be a bath and clipped her toenails the other day. Yes, it's not my dog, but no one else in the house (including her owners) would do it so I took pity on the poor pup.
