Date: 2025-10-11 06:07 am (UTC)Well, after having a hell of an epiphany that I either:
I’m thinking that I’ll take a small break
(as if I haven’t already, thanks to prior spiralling)to get my bearings one way or the other—via a possible zine submission for me to experiment with on one end, and some authors to see how I really feel about on the other. That’ll have to wait until after I fight off the fruits of my procrastination over this weekend, though—hopefully to the tune of passing grades by the end of it…

Thoughts
Date: 2025-10-11 07:18 am (UTC)I'm working on the last poem from the October Poetry Fishbowl.
I started a repair project today that I haven't finished yet, but I'm really pleased with the construction staple gun that I bought for it.
I finished a major seed-gathering and photography trip.
>> Are there any cool events or challenges happening that you want to hype? <<
We plan to visit the Apple Festival this weekend, which should have some craft vendors to browse.
>> What have you been watching or reading? <<
Currently watching a Halloween themed baking show. Currently reading Miss Amelia's List.
>>Chores and other not-fun things count!<<
Sooo much watering.

Date: 2025-10-11 07:09 pm (UTC)There are various baking, cooking, decorating, etc. shows available this time of year, so we usually try to watch at least one.
>>The Apple Festival sounds like a lot of fun, too.<<
We loved it last year. It started with the orchard and then spilled into the town.
>> Good luck with your projects! Looks like you're working on them steadily.<<
Yep. The weather cooled off enough that last night I went looking for air plants to order for the planned lantern terrarium.

Date: 2025-10-11 05:08 pm (UTC)I'm getting close to finishing my security+ renewal so that will be a load off of me.
I need to get a chapter out to my writing group today so they'll have enough time to read it by the 18th.
Craft projects have kind of fallen by the wayside of late...

Date: 2025-10-16 12:13 am (UTC)What are you working on? What have you finished? What do you need encouragement on? I am working on Lamplighters Guild, an interactive fiction novel. I am nearing the end of chapter 3. Mostly I just need to keep focused. I'm aiming to write 2k per day, with a minimum of something each day. Right now I'm 960 words away from hitting my 2k for today.
Sometimes focus is tough, but body doubling usually helps.
Are there any cool events or challenges happening that you want to hype? No, alas.
What do you just want to talk about? That strange resistance I feel when nearing the end of something. When I near the end of a chapter, I get this odd feeling. First, reaching the end feels a bit like Zeno's arrow. Everytime I think I'm close, I still have half the way to go. Second, finishing feels like an Event and Events are to be avoided, so an odd reluctance grows the closer I get.
Has anyone else experienced this?
What have you been watching or reading? Mostly webcomics. I'm also reading Stamped from the Beginning which is fantastic. A little dry at first, but once you adjust, it flows really well.
