Wow, neat!! You've put in a lot of effort into making those, I can tell.

Have fun in finishing the rest of your costume. ^^

Done!

O_O That's a really large list of activities! You sure know how to keep yourself busy, which is a really great thing.

You got this. You'll get that all filled in as long as you keep at it.

I finished up the blanket and my friend North American has it on his bed. I need to make a larger one. We're trying to cover up the duvet because his cat Murphy has discovered it's full of feathers that come out if he rips the cover.

I've started a new cross-stitch project. It's a sampler of Mos Eisley from Star Wars that says "Bless this wretched hive of scum and villainy." Right now I have "scum and villainy" and part of the decorative line beneath it.

Naughty kitty!! Hopefully he won't get into the bigger blanket.

Keep on cross-stitching and being crafty! That Star Wars idea is very cool. ^^

This is the pattern. It sparked much joy within me when I found it.

I finished some songs with my Kirby and emo rocker performer/singer personas recently!! They're all really great.

Gaming Buddy, Kirby's Cover of the second variant version of Baby Xena, this really silly little one, Reaching Out (A song response from the emo frontman to having used my lyrics to collab with me on this other one)...

Just Chatting

I'm planning to continue my interview idea with that rocker guy. A really unique way in getting to know the character. It will be very cool and memorable! I'm very glad I was able to get just a speaking version of him. But I'd have to get a bit of that done at a time.

Meanwhile I still have a couple of other ideas I left unfinished. I'll think about them a little...

Lastly,I reserved for Volume 9 of The Promised Neverland manga, after returning the 8th one back to the library.

I’ve come out the other side of yet some more cognitive dissonance I’ve been sitting on, and as such think I’ve properly (re)appraised my relationship with art as a whole and what bases I actually value it on. That being said, I still don’t think I’ll return to creative writing—but I’ve at least answered the question of why there’s been such a gap between my interests as a writer and as a reader for so long…

…And also the question of why making music sounds like a much more synergistic prospect in comparison; I’ve indeed been fiddling around in FL Studio since first I mentioned it, on that note, which has turned out both easier and harder than I thought it would. On one hand, the actual mechanics have been surprisingly digestible so far—especially between more simply working with some thorough soundfonts for now and this absolutely stellar introduction to sound design for when I’m ready to make my own—and my background in music theory through having learned a few instruments has certainly served my ear well…but on the other hand, I’m already brushing up against the limits of my (lack of) expertise; I’d like to start turning out some breakbeat stuff as per Hideki Naganuma et al., for instance, but I’m struggling to even pitch Sonic Rush’s various guitar samples in a way that doesn’t sound absolutely tedious to go through for an entire song. Time will tell whether I find all this more trouble than it’s worth, I guess.

You're interested in instrumentals?? Me too! Well, I've used different DAWs, but I made at least close to 100 tracks of various genres and moods.

Experimenting and trying out different things all the time is just half the fun about it. Become your own musically mad scientist. It takes some years of practice and experience until you get the swing of making some great beats, melodies, harmonies, and toss in some interesting FX.

I'm trying to finish a written advent calendar and have it printed in time for Nov. 30th, to give to my girlfriend. Right now it's a race against time. I am waiting on a cover and final beta notes, so I can make revisions and edits one last time before sending the whole thing off to the self-publishing service I use.

Ohh, that's an interesting challenge. I hope you get enough time before the end of the month. Does your girlfriend already know you're making it, or is this going to be a surprise for her? :)

She knows I'm working on it. It has been a pretty intense process.

I've decided that if I can't have it ready in time, I'm posting each day of december until it arrives in a journal here on DW and waiting for the print to come, so she can get it a bit delayed.

I need encouragement on getting through the next month at work without losing my mind. The work is interesting and rewarding. I love the people (spoiler alert, I love everyone, so that part isn't difficult). The technical aspects are challenging but I am up to them. The process, however, is an absolute dumpster fire; my work-life balance is in the toilet; and management gives zero f---s about improving things.

I made a little progress on my main cross stitch, Upon A Star. From the book Cross Stitch In The Forest. cross stitch WIP

You need to give yourself enough time as needed to get what you need done, in order to be satisfied with your creation. When given enough time to work on this project, the better the effort is.

Make a list of priorities if needed, the highest priority being at the very top of it.

I like the mix of the blues on what you have so far. It has potential, so best of luck in completing the pattern!

Completely unrelated, but I love how you marked the center on this piece. I usually just fold the fabric in quarters and mark it with a pencil but I can see that wouldn't work on this dark material. Also I like the frame. I've never been able to figure that kind out so I just use boring old hoops.

Some people do a whole grid! I can't be bothered, but centerlines really do help.

I usually try to do a reddish thread for the vertical and a bluish thread for the horizontal, like the lines on notebook paper. But in this case I wanted to go high contrast, and I was at a conference so my colour choices were limited. At least with the scroll frame I'm in much less danger of starting it sideways.

I'm nowhere near pulling the worst overtime. My coworkers deserve so, so much better. I have a plan and a way out.
