I finally finished posting the Holiday Poetry Sale stuff. I finished writing the February Poetry Fishbowl stuff. I am currently working on Creative Jam poems.

Currently watching Crunchbox, which is episodic geekery. :D Tonight's episode was about how to beat arcade games.

Currently reading Scholarly Pursuits from [personal profile] duckprintspress.

I got the unofficial student Discord server for my grad program started! Right now, there are only three members (including me) but you gotta start somewhere? Unfortunately, the launch meeting was ~24 hours after Discord announced that it would be rolling out age verification for all members so I think that might've made people less inclined to sign up…

During the launch/info meeting, I added ⅓ a row to my rainbow blanket. It might not sound like much but it's a half circle pattern and each row now is hundreds of stitches. (I'm not even counting, just eyeballing the increases.)

… and I'm now at ~5,000 words of this research paper, making it the second longest piece of academic writing I've ever done (after my MFA critical thesis). 2,000 words to go and I'm tired.

Hey kudos on the paper! It's a lot of hard work! And you'll have to share that rainbow blanket when it's done!

Hii! First time commenting here!

I'm super hyped for National Craft month in March, I've been prepping my scrapbooking and embroidery materials for that specifically!

I've also been getting into horror as a genre a bit more lately too, which is wild cause I'm easily spooked in general. So far, I've been dipping my toes into reading it and I've watched someone play a horror game on Youtube so it made the whole thing less scary with the players constantly making jokes as things happened. I'm not going to get into heavy stuff anytime soon, but it's big for me!

Some of the stories are really adorable. I've hit one that was outright horror though.

I got it through Kickstarter, so a library is a long shot, but you could ask. If your library favors the "cozy" subgenres then they're more likely to have it, and over the years that branch of literature has really grown.

Ah! Yes, good to know XD my library does have a *lot* of self-published novels and I can request some titles so I'll just do that :P

This is actually a small-press title from [personal profile] duckprintspress. You might look at their other offerings and if you like the catalog, recommend that publisher to your librarian. Though it is also true that Kickstarter funds a lot of individual-author titles, and in general, contains a much higher portion of truly innovative literature than the big houses currently offer.

Lovely! I just requested it at my library so I should know in a week or so if they're going to purchase it!

I'm happy I could tip you to something fun.

It's worth subscribing to [personal profile] duckprintspress if you like their stuff, because they not only mention their Kickstarter projects, they also do rec-reading lists with themes.
