Welp—after naïvely beating around this bush in my worldbuilding for a good while now, I’m finally finding myself pricked by its thorns—and am consequently feeling a bit chuffed at apparently having to choose between:

• Dragons (et cetera) that can be even mildly threatened by (warbands’ worth of) sufficiently enchanted steel…and thus absolutely obliterated by a single magitek-facilitated fighter jet

• Dragons (et cetera) that can fly on even footing with (fleets of) magitek-facilitated fighter jets…and would thus need to be fought with said fighter jets or even heavier ordinances, as opposed to infantries of plucky protagonists armed with human-scale mechsuits at most

Lest I ditch the notion of fighter jets entirely—along with assault rifles and ATVs and functioning faux-internet, because any folks with opposable thumbs would definitely have developed ways to deal with the actively antagonistic airborne apex predators (and with each other as a bonus) by the time they stumbled upon any of that other stuff…which would summarily rewind my setting’s sociopolitics back to a roughly medieval or Renaissance-era status quo, of which the logistical hurdles and inconvenient mundanities I specifically wanted to avoid constantly and consciously accounting for in my roleplay.

Maybe I should just keep looking for/cooking up some kind of sitcom TTRPG after all…

I am le ded. It's been a day of errands, and chores. Plus, my right shoulder is on fire.

But I've been picking at one of my stories, one of my outlines. Then, on top of that, I've been doing stuff around the house. The vacuum now works, and the flour is partially portioned out (we bought a 50lb bag). So, let's see if we can keep going? I need to make self-rising flour for dad (I have everything I need) and keep writing.

Monday! I have off work, because at 715am, I go in and get a kidney stone out! So, that'll be an interesting day.

I'm trying to work up the energy to go shower. Today we go visit partners family for Easter lunch. I'm baking cookies, per usual but we are in a new apartment. So I'm a bit anxious about the cookies turning out well. The dough is made, they just need to be baked.

I made & ate breakfast and 1 batch of cookies are cooling now. Once I get out of the shower I'll start more going.
