I'm assuming that people aren't going to be getting much done this weekend because of the holidays. So let us know how you're doing, vent if you need to, share anything cool you've seen or done lately.
I gave my parents this pillow square for Christmas, unfinished. I was done with the actual crocheting, but had pooped out on weaving in ends. There were EIGHTY-TWO ends on the front. *dies* I've since woven in more ends and bought the pillow form and some faux fur fabric for the back. It'll be nice and cuddly when finished.
I got some yarny Christmas presents. As usual, my mom gave me a calendar, and I picked out the page-a-day knitting calendar. She also gave me a $25 gift card to JoAnn, which I've already used. My younger sister gave me two big skeins of DK weight yarn! I am excited about that because I hardly ever have that weight as JoAnn (which is all I can afford) doesn't really well it. The Hat of the Month group on Ravelry often picks hats made in DK weight, and I've been sad in the past that I couldn't participate. Now I can!
Otherwise, I am looking forward to starting some new projects in January. My JoAnn gift card was spent towards this yarn to be made into this sweater. I am also going to be doing these gauntlets with this yarn. Finally, it looks like one of my Ravelry groups may be doing a blanket-a-long, so I might pull out this project and work on it.
This was my first corner-to-corner item with color changes, and I was pretty fussy with not carrying the yarn if it was going to show, hence all the ends. I'm slowly working on it. Not much left to go!
I *have* to show off my friend's amazing C2C Afghan she made for Desert Bus. It is a LARGE blanket of Link from the Legend of Zelda, and I don't even want to know how many ends it had. I've never played Zelda but her blanket is so impressive I wanted to bid on it anyway! Here it is: https://ravel.me/sarahsaurus56/db2b
