I'm supposed to have been productive and taking care of all the stuff I need to do now that I've lost my job.
Instead I've been working on my conlangs and reading.
Yesterday we went to the San Diego Safari Park and because I'm incredibly out of shape, my hips and shoulders now hurt (the shoulders is from carrying a backpack WHICH WASN'T EVEN HEAVY). And my guts are acting up, so I kinda just feel bleeeeehhhhh
I'm handcoding the webpage for one of the languages that influenced my main conlang and it's exhausting compared to doing it in Tiddlywiki (which is pretty much wysiwyg)
got some more stuff unloaded from Estrella (everything went SO well & the tinker's wagon is AWESOME) & then headed over to the abandoned house to see what there was to steal -- found a solid wood chest of drawers that I think my roommate is gonna use for beads & stuff
... & that's it for the day, I'm still catching up on rest & also breathing dust from the abandoned house YES I AM WEARING A MASK NEXT TIME
If you can find one. My architect cousin was complaining on FB the other day that his construction workers were having trouble getting dust masks because of the COVID-19 panic. For the record, he lives in Georgia which, last I checked, was on the opposite side of the country from California and Washington where the only US cases have been.
I was lucky & grabbed a pack a couple months back because I was tired of breathing sawdust. I'd say I was smart & planned ahead, but I'd be lying. They're just the cheapass paper ones but still better than nothing.
I've been catching up on rest and some housework. Also I've been enjoying listening to an audiobook and am about halfway through it. Yay local library!
Currently waiting for a late lunch, chicken noodle soup, to finish cooking.
The striped afghan continues to continue. I'm on the last two skeins of the main color, so I'll be bordering it soon. Then comes the hard part: decide who I'm going to give it to.
I am pleased with the number of projects I completed this month, though I was still short one entry for Nerdopolis, which is a crafting challenge on Ravelry. I'm captain of Team Co-Op, which covers games of all kinds. Since I'm captain, I try to set a good example and submit to all five crafting challenges, but I only managed four this month. Oh well. I made a post in my journal showing what I completed the past two months.
Since I mentioned Nerdopolis, I'll plug it some more because it really is a lot of fun: you play on teams based on something nerdy. As mentioned my team is gaming of all kinds, but we have teams based on cartoons/anime, steampunk, Terry Pratchett books, Game of Thrones, and more. You get challenged each month to craft to a certain theme. For example, last month one of the themes was Marsupials, so I was working on a bag that had a pocket on its side (that's the project I ran out of time on). If you're a knitter, crocheter, weaver, spinner, or dyer of yarn and thinks this sounds like fun, you can check us out in our group on Ravelry (you need a Ravelry account to access the group).
