I have fifteen scenes left to un-placeholder in where the firelight fades. Thirteen of those are mostly or entirely placeholders—actually maybe twelve, I'm not entirely sure how deep I am into one of them, but that scene is still substantially unfinished—and one the placeholder is a note with the gist of maybe three paragraphs I couldn't figure out how to phrase at the time. The last one technically isn't at all a placeholder anymore, since it had a note with the gist of a several-paragraph chunk and now it has the several-paragraph chunk, and it also had brackets around the wrong word and now it's got no brackets and a different still not quite right word.
Anyway. I counted up that fifteen yesterday. (Before doing most of the work on the last scene described above.) And then I told myself if I could get that down to ten—and, since the very earliest of these is in chapter nine of fourteen, I don't care which ten—I could post the first two chapters. (It's gotta be the first two because the first one is, for reasons, teeny.)
I made refrigerator bread dough last week & so every day I've been pulling out a bit to make flatbread in a pan on the stove. Today's was folded over mozzarella, genoa salami, & pesto. Kind of a calzone! Ish!
I miiiiiight be feeling up to working on the tinker's wagon today. Maybe. But at least I confirmed that my sawzall still works after I left it out in the rain a couple months ago while it was still plugged in. >.>
ALSO my cat Loiosh turns 12 today & I am. Not dealing well? HE WAS A TINY KITTEN JUST TWO WEEKS AGO, HE IS NOT OLD
i wrote 3,3k this week! 3,3k! that's more than everything i wrote in february and march. i've written almost 10k this month with a few days days to spare.
also: i managed to clean my window (which hadn't been clean in... an year or more?), clean all the five wooden doors on the house, read some short stories and exercise for an hour on thursday and today. i feel proud of myself. i'm still avoiding my therapist, though, which isn't good because he worries a lot.
it's autumn and the weather is chilly, but the days feel sunnier.
i have about seventeen placeholders on a story of mine, and i'm not sure of what to write on three of them. i've been thinking about writing it from the ending or just skipping the scenes i don't know what to write, and see if they are necessary.
writing the later scenes first so you have a better idea of what you need in the earlier ones is definitely a strategy that works for enough people it's worth you trying it
Mostly gaming, here, but my therapist actually thinks my MMO is good for my personal growth, so yay for that!
I was crocheting a hat, but it was turning up far too big. When I lay it down flat it measure 13" which would be a 2 6" circumference and just, no. So I gave up on that one and started a different one yesterday. I want to finish it this month.
I also need to finish a doll I started knitting in August...
Oh, I did a bit of slightly creative writing by summarizing the plot of Final Fantasy XIV:Heavensward in my journal today. That took me several hours! I wanted to write it, though, because as it's an MMO that means it will eventually go away with no way to play it again, so I wanted to record my impressions of the story for posterity.
I've got a lot that needs doing but also a lot that I've done...
Things that I did: - made a chicken and veggie casserole, it tasted great and it fed me for a week! I'll be making this again. - cleaned up my living room. I keep looking over and the empty spaces surprise me lol! - took out the trash Wednesday! - answered my RP replies with my RP buddy - found the all purpose flour in my freezer - fixed my sewing machine, now the bobbin is threading properly - got my fabric out for my next quilt - thought very very hard about writing my fanfic - organized my icons after coming back to this account after 7 years lol. I've missed journaling.
things that I need to do: - iron my quilting fabric - take a walk every day..even if its at night - remember to shower every day; don't need to wash my hair that often but I need to make sure to get clean - clean up my bathroom - stay on top of my dishes - figure out what the hell my fanfic is actually about...or start writing...or something
That's all from me lol. It's good to be back at DW.
Please tell me what post was off-topic and what about it was off-topic. I read community profiles carefully before posting to them, so I need further exposition. Thanks!
