Just Create - Middle of June (!!?!!)
Jun. 13th, 2020 12:51 pmHow is it so far into June already?!
Anyway, how are you doing? What are you doing? What have you done? What is the airspeed of an unladen swallow?
Edit to add:
BTW, if you're a gamer of any type: itch.io has a HUGE bundle of games for sale to support the NAACP legal fund and Community Bail Fund. It's over 1600+ games for a minimum of $5. That's here: https://itch.io/b/520/bundle-for-racial-justice-and-equality
Because it's so huge, there's been a website set up to filter and find things: https://randombundlegame.com/browse (Once you buy the bundle, there's a search bar in the bundle since it's over 50 pages of games.)
There's also a google doc with filtering options (including platform if you need it on Mac, Linux, HTML5 so you can play in the browser, etc). It's the third post down here. You may have to download the spreadsheet because it gets overwhelmed when too many people are on: https://itch.io/t/824519/is-there-any-way-to-sort-the-items-from-the-charity-bundle-by-typecategory
And there's someone giving quick impressions of the games: https://itch.io/c/915453/quick-impressions-bundle-for-racial-justice
Somebody has categorized all of them so now you can find just browser games or just soundtracks, etc: https://itch.io/t/834081/categorized-racial-justice-bundle-into-collections-links-below
It's FULL of good games.
Video games include: A Night in the Woods, A Short Hike, Celeste, Anodyne...
Tabletop games include: Lancer, Blades in the Dark, Troika, Atomic Robo the RPG...
There are also comics, zines, stories, and more.

Date: 2020-06-13 07:56 pm (UTC)I'm working on the most complicated papercraft I've done so far. It's a dice tower. So the floor of my office is a mess with paper scraps because my trash can is already full. I want to finish it today before D&D so I can use it.
I need to finish dusting in my office and I'm still waiting for some frames. But I organized and bundled the computer cords to make it easier to clean next time.
I think that's about it for this week.

Date: 2020-06-13 09:02 pm (UTC)Also you might want to note that there's actual creative resources in the bundle! Assets like music, entire game engines like Pico-8, and at least one tool that's supposed to help creative people keep organised (Tape, though I decided I didn't like it).
Are you going to share this papercraft tower when it's done? I want to see!

Date: 2020-06-13 08:41 pm (UTC)I've had some success with crafting this week. I'm on the ankle ribbing on the first of a pair of slippers. Also been working on a playful kitty amigurumi, and knitting the wings of a dragon. Still lots to do before the end of the month! I hope I can finish some projects.

Date: 2020-06-13 09:06 pm (UTC)And, y'know, the cause.
As long as you can read (and possibly print) .pdfs there's a lot of games you don't need to play on your computer.

Date: 2020-06-13 09:18 pm (UTC)I'm saving the reveal of all this pixel art I'm making for when I use it in an actual game.
I had worked on more digital art practice too.
Also, that bundle contains Oneshot, one of my favourite games ever, so I hope that more people discover this very emotional game.

Date: 2020-06-14 04:26 am (UTC)On the creative end, I've been working on a story for unconventionalcourtship this week. I think everyone should do this challenge, because the idea is so creative and delightful to me.
