I'm excited for tomorrow. Not only is it THE RUN of the Final Fantasy Five Four Job Fiesta, but it's also E3 and Square Enix is presenting. I am hyped!
I've been doing a fair amount of knitting this week. I had good excuse: I'm away from home watching my sister's dog so no access to my PS4. Most of my work went to the graduation blanket. I'm about 28% done with it, and still tons to go. At this rate I don't think I'm going to get it done before his party on July 10th but I'm going to try my hardest! Here's a picture from the start of this month, click to embiggen:
I also made ginger cookies this week! They are very tasty.
Big news: I bought a Zoom Loom! This is a small weaving loom. It's winging its way to me, but I went out and bought some wool yarn for it. I mostly use acrylics for knitting and crochet but I think weaving is normally done with wool? I'm not sure.
Anyway, while picking up the wool for the zoom loom I bought some yarn for a knitting project I had planned. The project requires super bulky yarn, and just over one skein, meaning I would have a bunch of leftover yarn and so I knit a hat. It's reversible! I like the inside better than the outside:
And then I started on the planned project: a leaf scarf. The reason I did the hat first is it's much easier to knit a scarf until you run out of yarn, but it would be an issue if I ran out of yarn doing the hat.
Going back to my blanket: I think I need to knit at least ten rows a day to finish in time. That's quite a bit, and it's boring knitting (next blanket will definitely have a more interesting pattern!) The leaf scarf is very fun to knit, so I've resorted to bribery: I'll allow myself to knit a leaf if I get at least two rows done on the blanket.
Right: I'm at six rows today. Time to finish washing dishes and then it's back to the grind.
