Today's mostly been dedicated to getting rid of the old sleeper sofa so it can be replaced by the new one that's being delivered on Friday. I need to vacuum in there - there are dust bunnies big enough to devour feet.
I haven't started Lexember yet, although I've been trying. I decided to create a proto-language for some of my languages and I'm just barely past getting the wiki formatted. But I found an amazing program for cataloging your language - http://draquet.github.io/PolyGlot/readme.html
I also got my bedroom back together, finally, although I also need to vacuum. And do laundry. The old display case is once again full of Batman / Super Friends Imaginext toys.
I made really good progress on getting a Daz3d character made for Swordcat. I need to finish his textures and figure out clothes (besides prison clothes)
Most of my energy the past week has gone to playing Final Fantasy XIV, as its newest expansion, Endwalker, came out last Friday. I've been writing spoileriffic reaction posts in my journal; they are here if anyone would like to read:
I've also been working on part 2 of my FFXIV:Shadowbringers "summary". It's super long and is more a complete retelling of events in that expansion than a summary. I had hoped to get it all done before Endwalker but hahaha no.
FFXIV has had amazingly long login queues (like two hours long!) so while waiting in queue the other day I made some snowflakes for my nieces and nephews. There's six kids and I have three done, so halfway.
What I could use some encouragement on is my next big blanket project. It's for ME and I had hoped to get it done before Christmas but I don't think that will be possible. But, if I could get it done for my family's Christmas party in early January that would be nice! It's crocheted in motifs and I have about 32 more motifs to go.
Also been continuing to work on little art things for friends, and I've got 5/6 completed! This last one is the biggest, and while I've just gotta color it and I'm starting it tonight, it might take tomorrow as well to finish it.
For this upcoming week, I've got two more art things to do before the end of the week, and then I can figure out what to work on next, haha. :D
I finally finished the mermaid amigurumi I've been working on for a few weeks! She was only waiting on hair and to be sewn together, but boy howdy did that take longer to figure out than I was planning. I wanted to make sure she had her hair attached before I stitched her together, and finding the right way to give her the hair she deserved took time, effort, and trial-and-error. I'm really pleased with how she turned out, though!
Up next, I'm working on an ear of corn for my nibling's first birthday. I've made corn before in small form, but since he's only going to be one, something closer to or larger than life size would be better. I'm planning to crochet the ear of corn itself, single crochet yellow on one side and off-white popcorn stitch on the other, while the husk is going to be sewn from green cotton fabric on the outside and felt on the inside. The corn will be attached to the husk with a magnet, and the husk itself will open and close by zipper! The tassel will stick out the top of the husk. I'm still debating whether to give the corn a face (if so, on the yellow side) or a squeaker toy. I'm hoping nibling will get a kick out of it.
I've gotten all scattered lately. Creatively, I'm behind on some writing projects. Most importantly, I'm way behind on getting my mother's house cleaned out. It's unbelievably overwhelming.
I'm sorry. It sounds overwhelming. Anything we can do to help? I know an ADHD community with coaches that can help if the problem is figuring out where to start or how to keep going.
Thank you so much for the offer. I think I'm okay. I'm just frustrated with all the stuff I need to get rid of. My Mom was from that time period where people didn't want to get rid of anything. It's just a lot of work.
I hear that. When we cleaned out granddad's mobile home it was amazing and frightening what we found (three full sets of encyclopedias, iirc, comes to mind. And using empty tissue boxes for organizing)
I'm training a New Person at work, so I've been crocheting another blanket during my work downtime. I'm fidgety and if I'm not typing/writing and since training is a lot of explanation without a lot of mousing/typing, I have to be doing something with my hands. It's Carolina Panthers colors, bright blue and black. As I was working on it I realized that those are also Cookie Monster colors.
My ultimate goal with these blankets is to get nine of them so I can give them to my family for Christmas presents. There might be a free-for-all over the Panthers/Cookie Monster blanket. Most of them are football fans.
