I have made progress on a WIP! Plus a little progress on a different WIP; the problem I am currently having with het_bigbang is like
me: I'm going to write story-then in past tense and story-now in present. me: *writes story-now in present* me: *writes story-now in present* me: *writes story-now in present* me: *writes story-then in present* me: SurprisedPikachu.png
me: you weren't even four paragraphs into story-then, self, fixing it to be past tense will not be difficult also me: no. me: *waits another hour* also me: still no.
I mean I guess I could write the entire thing in present tense, but surely that will make the timeline unnecessarily difficult to decipher? either that or require the use of timestamps
azurelunatic says "First draft, don't worry about it", which I suppose is my own fault for saying out loud and in so many words that I want this story to be the one where I figure out how to make the distinction between first and subsequent drafts work for me (and which also meant I got farther in the scene), but editing
Finish out the scene in present tense, then switch to past tense/edit the scene? You'll still hopefully be able to ride the momentum that way, but might still be able to get into the tense you want for the next bit.
I quit my job because it management was a mess, so now I have to transition back to creating my own structure, which, uh, *sweats in ADHD*
I'm working on unpacking the Thundercats Ultimates toys that I had preordered and making a nice display. I have five more to do, but my bedroom gets warm during the day.
I need to ride the stationary bike today (or tomorrow...) and that means I need to pick a half-hour show to watch while I do it.
I've been working on more Daz art for stories that I mean to write.
I need to figure out how to get patrons for my Patreon, and update my Redbubble shop.
And I'm going to restart my podcast so this weekend I need to get the wiki organized. I *think* I have all the bits I've written for it typed up.
I've made three hippos (two with sweaters, one without) and one mermaid over the past two days while attending WisCon virtually. I may share pictures later.
does, or could, one of the hippos have a tutu or other obvious dancing attire/pose? I ask less because I want to commission such a thing 😿 (idk what I'd do with it), more because photos of a dancing hippo would, because of reasons, deeply entertain Yuletide exchange Discord
(possibly enough for someone there to purchase such a completed thing, though of course that's not guaranteed)
Oh-ho! None of them do yet, but it's certainly something I could whip up without much trouble, I'm sure! I'll have to dig through my yarn stock. (I'm about 90% sure that Millie the Hippo, who so far only exists in AnimeTwineowa as a staff in-joke, was a reference to the same Fantasia short.)
It's been a hot minute since I've commented here or had the energy to do much of anything creative. But! The past couple days I worked on a handful of little sketches for some of my coworkers, and it was a lot of fun. It was nice to do the art thing again after a bit of a stretch without, and I hope to do more soon. <3
I've been swatching my new markers while I decide layouts for June's trackers in my planner.
I've also been trying to figure out better project management so I can keep track of what I actually have going and prioritize.
On the funner (more fun?) side of things, I am getting to try out the app our local library is going to be using to hold reading contests before any of the other patrons do. So far, so good.
Cross your fingers for me that I get some writing done tonight and don't fall into yet another night of YouTube videos and procrastination.
For the last month or so, my primary project has been finding a place to live, and I think I finally accomplished that this weekend! We'll see if I rediscover any creative energy on the heels of that and finishing up the academic year...my brain feels like a desert.

Sorry for not responding before -- life's been a little crazy. I shall make some icons in the next couple of days!
