I have picked up a neglected sewing project, and am in the process of making a practice v-neck t-shirt. If it goes well, I have some nice fabrics with celestial prints from the Jo-Ann kids' section to make shirts with for real, because I'm tired of wearing the same 3 League of Legends t-shirts all the time.
So far I have cursed the pattern maker's insane decisions, traced the pattern pieces, cut out the fabric, and made a folder for the pattern. The size chart and the cutting layout are both completely bonkers, but that is merely slowing me down and not stopping me. I can't wait to get to the actual instructions. :P
I have been spending all my energy in moving and going through some huge life transition stuff, and I just feel absolutely wiped out lately, dry of creative energy and kind of in mourning about it. But tomorrow is the big move, and I'm really hoping some of it will come back once I'm settled in...fingers crossed.
I finally (I think) finished my Crochet Henshin Wand!
This thing is 35mm in diameter. It's to accompany a crochet-themed magical girl costume that I still have a lot of work to do on, but I'm no longer attending the event I'd originally planned it for, so I have plenty of time. I'm very pleased with how it turned out!
(And yes, I have heard the one about what it resembles, thank you.)
I did a super quick baby hat for a work colleague who was going on maternity leave! The baby wool I had was a dark chocolate brown, so I added little bear ears too :D
My work also has an unofficial 'sewing pattern library' for the staff, so I borrowed a pattern for some pyjama bottoms and am trying to work out the best way of transferring the pattern so I can give them a go.
And I'm steadily picking away at some creative writing projects! I have written a lot by hand in downtime at work when I have a few spare moments but don't have access to a computer and can't use my phone. But trying to type it all up is such a pain, although I am trying to think of it as a round of free re-writes 😂
And finally I am eyeing up all the t-shirts in my possession and wondering which ones I can cut the sleeves off of, since I did the same thing with an old band tshirt and love how it came out. In particular I have a really cool goth-y sweatshirt dress that I got secondhand, but the crew neck is really tight and uncomfortable. So I'm planning to re-cut the neckline and maybe add a bit of binding.
I'm revising my mlwritersguild April concept (yes I know) in order to, one, push some of the stuff I was putting in that over into what I am currently still referring to as my het_bigbang (even though it is probably not for that anymore, too big for the time frame), and two, pull in a fun idea from a miraculousfanworks prompt
none of which rules out this story being my new het_bigbang…
Thanks for starting the weekly topic! I meant to but the day got away from me somehow.
I've been having a lot of trouble getting stuff done, but I'm doing my best. I did some work on one of my conlangs, just fooling around.
Fooled around in ArmorPaint to figure out 3d texturing. I have the idea of offering 3d fantasy texture packs for Daz characters with a base skin or two and an overlay or two, with the idea being that people can mix and match with my packs and other characters.

Date: 2022-06-18 06:53 am (UTC)That was on Sunday. I am still trying to pry his ass out of there. I am 59 pages into the poem and it is still not done.
This is worse than the fiber fair.
