It's another weekend! And I'm continuing to dm a DnD adventure so I won't be around much.

What have you gotten done? What do you need support on? What do you want to share?

(surprise, it totally was a Mimic)

"Done"? What is "done"?

I've made some progress on Fabulous Women In History (counted cross stitch), and I'm getting the hang of stitching on linen again.

I finally cut my hair! It's still long enough to put in a ponytail (just). It looks much tidier and is significantly less annoying to take care of. Yes, I used the fabric scissors. They're MY fabric scissors so no one has to kill anyone.

Another accomplishment - can't remember if I mentioned this one already - a few weeks ago I yeeted SIX BAGS OF OLD STUFF to Goodwill, plus 3 or 4 actual bags. I've started another box of stuff to donate. I'm creating space!

I've been insanely stressed at work. Our team is finally staffed up and we have some folks who are good at process and interested in moving future projects forward. BUT FIRST, THE TURMOIL. I think I need some support in not feeling bad when things go to shit that aren't my fault.

Honestly I could also use some support in my stalled sewing project. Anyone know how to install a V-neckband when making a shirt with a stretch knit, for the spatially hopeless? Want to try and explain it to me? (Complaints about the pattern instructions available on request.)

Good luck with your adventure!!

No help with sewing (I think I remember being worse with spatial than you), but yay on the donation, and I'm right there with you. I found the local second chances bin and threw a small bag in, this week I'm going to try to take a large bag.

The thing I like about the donations is that I can do it incrementally. If I have only half a spoon left, I can put a thing in a bag. It adds up!

Some of the bags of stuff were sitting in the closet for YEARS. I sorted the items by type and I saw a bunch of things I didn't even remember owning.

Yeah, I'm really good at the going through my stuff and putting things in a donation pile, and terrible about getting that donation pile to a place that takes donations. So I've had to designate a spot for donations and when that spot is full I have to stop until I get things donated.

Ah! A mimic! I never saw it coming!

I'm still making progress on the fic rewrite I started last month. I'd hoped to be done by the halfway point in August, and I know I won't manage that, but the progress has been steady enough that I'm happy with it.

I am officially signed up for the craft fair! \o/ I just need to send in a form stating my needs/preferences for location, which I will work on after I finish writing this comment.

I've done a LOT of crafting this week to prepare for the fair, including:

* several different snowflakes
* several gnome ornaments
* a few bookmarks
* one big pumpkin and one tiny pumpkin
* halfway through a doily
* started a kerchief
* knit on two shawls

I'm proud of how much I got done, yet it still feels like not enough. So if I need anything, I need people to tell me I'm doing great and that it's okay if I take time for breaks.

Breaks have been mostly playing Final Fantasy XIV. I went back to one of my characters I haven't played in a while. Didn't realize how much I missed her. She's a babe! And it's fun being around that group of friends again.

Oh wow! That's a lot of crafting all right!

It is definitely okay to take breaks. If nothing else, you don't want to get so tired you mess something up. ;) And no one wants you to get burned out.

I hope you do great at the craft fair!

I've been writing a story that's both similar and different from what I usually write; similar in trajectory, different in the characters' dynamic. It's been freeing and a good try at something new.

I continue to fail to make edible brown sugar fudge! XD

I'm almost done with an amigurumi I started earlier this year.

I made significant progress on the bottom half of Acorn Sampler (https://www.pawprintings.com/acornbasket.htm), but I don't love the hardanger-y bits at the bottom which aren't hardanger-y enough (no cutwork, for one thing), and I'm thinking about replacing with the heart motif from this (https://victoriasampler.com/products/jazz-sampler), which is the right width, but I worry might look wrong from a style perspective.

Ooh, that would be pretty! It might be slightly off just because of the scale, but I bet you could make it work.

Acorn Sampler is 72 stitches wide, Jazz Sampler is 74 stitches wide, but the heart leaves 2 stitches open on each side so is 70 stitches wide. I was amazed I found something that actually fit. And I even think I can fit one of the green hearts above the big heart in Jazz Sampler. I'm probably gonna try it ;)
