It's the weekend again! How did that happen?

What have you been up to? What are you struggling with or need support on?

I haven't felt like doing anything except working on a piece of art (... I should really do a blog post for it). I also did some sketching last night while watching Glass Onion.

Sketching is productive and wasn't _Glass Onion_ nifty?

It really was! I'm annoyed that Knives Out wasn't still on Netflix - we'll rent it at some point

I'm feeling the "starting something" inertia sooo bad. I finished my latest crochet project, and even though I know what I want to work on next, I'm just like... blah. Same with all the stuff I've been dinking around about writing. I'm all ready at the start line but I can't seem to take off.

I survived the first week of the semester. I sent out a short story and I'm THIS close to editing thru the novel. I just need to focus on that

Today's tasks included hanging the crescent-moon planter (which I'll use as a candleholder) in the dining room and figuring out how to assemble the brass hoop planter that I hung in the fairy window. Neither of them have anything in them yet, and I still have to hang the macrame planter, but at least I made some progress.

It's very pretty. We have a floor candleholder with little brass hollows for holding candles, and the reflections are beautiful. I figure this will work similarly.

I'm such a huge fan of candle holders! I mostly go for the novelty ones, especially seasonal (like, we have a pumpkin one for Halloween and a Santa one for winter holidays), but especially now that there isn't a season to decorate for I really enjoy the simpler ones too. ♡♡♡ And using a planter is such a cool idea, I need to try it! :)

>>I'm such a huge fan of candle holders!<<

Yeah, me too. I have glass ones, metal ones, you name it. I've made glass candles at home. I also have oil lamps. Because the power goes out multiple times a year.

>> And using a planter is such a cool idea, I need to try it! :)

Most metal planters should work, as they are fireproof and reflective. I want to find something to put in mind, to keep the tea light off the holder itself and keep wax from spilling.

This is the crescent moon planter that I got as a candleholder.

This is the hoop planter I got for actual plants, but it would also work as a candleholder and the bowl is big enough to hold one of those large round multiwick or ribbon wick candles.

I've never made a candle myself, but I sometimes buy them faster than I can burn them. xD

Oh wow, they are golden which is even more beautiful than what I pictured! ♡ And I love how the multiple hoops look, such a fun design! :)

I'm doing a big Sunday dinner with a roasted chicken, roasted carrots, Broccoli & rissoto. I'm planning to also make some apple muffins for breakfast this week.

Thanks. I had to adjust my meal plan a little but it was still tasty.

This is the chicken I made.
I didn't make the jus but I did roast & save the backbone for stock. I also saved the fat & drippings to make smaltz.

https://www.seriouseats.com/butterflied-roasted-chicken-with-quick-jus-recipe

I made a new recipe for garlic mashed Potatoes. They turned out well. https://casualfoodist.com/instant-pot-garlic-mashed-potatoes-no-draining-required/#recipe

I also made roasted carrots & Broccoli. The carrots just got some salt & oil & roasted them along the chicken after peeling & cutting in 3rds.

The broccoli was frozen so it got a quick cook/thaw in boiling water & then went into the oven to roast for 20 mins or so.

This weekend’s House Project: Build the 3 white bookcases we’ve bought for the library. Motivation low.

Current Creative Goal: I’m hoping to write something. Anything. Motivation low.

What has happen been accomplished: Big Grocery shopping for supplies for a friends 40th birthday party I’m hosting next weekend. Put away all of the interior Yule decor.
