I had a colposcopy with biopsies taken on Thursday and I'm still feeling gross. AND my right wrist was hurting a ton the last two days so I was resting it, which meant I couldn't do much of anything.
Today I need to pick up my room and put away clean laundry from weeks ago so I can do more laundry and I don't wanna.
The drawing community I'm part of, drawesome, had a challenge to depict BIPOC in fantasy settings and the results were AWESOME in both quality and quantity. Woot woot! If you like amateur art, go look!
This weekend’s House Project: Build the 3 white bookcases we’ve bought for the library. Motivation low. (This has been a pending house project since about November?)
Current Creative Goal: I’m hoping to write enough to get caught up with the prompts for February Ficlet Challenge. I’m currently 3 prompts behind. Motivation moderate.
What has been holding me back: Woke up with Big arthritic pain. I should move and try to work it out, but instead I’ve let the cats talk me into taking two naps! 🐈⬛ 🐈 😴
I have been packing not nearly enough boxes. I don't even have the entire sewing room packed and half those boxes say "misc". I didn't keep the boxes for 2 out of my 3 sewing machines and I kind of hate myself.
Stress is high, energy is medium. I am still keeping on top of everyday tasks but - what with buying one house and preparing to sell another - gosh there are a lot of things to do.
I did spend some time working on the cross stitch project for my sewing notebook cover, which was nice.
I've recently moved into my first real adult apartment, and I'm adjusting a lot to living alone.
my college class attendance has been great and I'm feeling good about being on top of class work! overall this week has been pretty great.
however, living alone in a new city has me feeling very alone these days. I have friends, just none locally that I'm close enough to for a weekend hangout with :,) its a work in progress, and ik it'll take time but I'm impatient to spend quality time with friends in person again :,)
I'm needing to get my pinchhit fic for a fan even to its halfway point & I also need to send out several personal check ins to people I haven't heard from for the event I mod. I've been pretty low energy because of work -_-
I adored finally moving into a space of my own (I'm an introvert who has an OCD mother), but it definitely felt lonely on Sunday afternoons once I had recovered from the workweek. It will get better, and I'm sure you're already doing all the things, but I finally made real progress when I resolved to just say yes to proposed things/posted events.
Drawing for exchanges (nothing new got revealed in the last week), making random graphics for fandom_empire monopoly challenge, posting recs every day to halfamoon, I think that's about it for creative things right now. :D
Oooof, that does sound like A LOT of work and overwhelm. But hey, in the end you move to a new house which is exciting? :D And yay for taking some time to do cross stitching! :)
Not my original plan (Hadn't read the open call right) it's a sequel to one of my others in this anthology set in Northern Wisconsin as humanity is picking itself up from a century of occupation by aliens and trying to do things right by engineering life in a sustainable way. One character is growing biofuels
It seems to be a rather small subset of SF (though I would argue a lot of Star Trek belongs in that little pocket). I definitely prefer it to dystopians.
Well, I do definitely love Star Trek. :D I do like dystopia too, though - my interest in fiction goes from hopeful to grimdark and from adorable to horrifying like a pendulum (and if the same canon has both? A+++).
Same here though my taste for dystopians has fallen a bit (often it's the misogyny in so many) Speaking of which I have a few grimdarks on the tbr pile i need to get to
