I've worked a little more on my 1960s fashion plate lady... I realized I also shorted myself on pink, so not only is she missing a leg but she'll also be missing part of her umbrella. :( Past Diane has a lot to answer for.

So, I broke into the box after all. Luckily I have been labeling all my boxes (unlike my beloved spouse) so it was the work of minutes to cut an extra metre of each. I also got out a small kit (that I bought in Norway on a cruise) as a backup because I'm pretty sure I'll finish the first one before we actually move.

I had a very interesting week! I went back to the office for the first time since March of 2020, got to meet a bunch of my coworkers (and my manager) for the first time, and generally had an extremely good time. My heart is singing, and my butt is numb from all that driving. At least it was only raining, not hailing or snowing like it is in some parts of SoCal.

Currently I'm about to begin work on a blanket for my brother! I just finished my first real digital painting yesterday, and I still have one commission left but its for a very close friend so I have some leeway on completion time lol. Whats challenging me right now is having to work when i could be crafting! I feel like theres so much i want to do but work can really tucker me out!

Yup! Spent the last few hours after cooking supper trying to figure out a new granny square pattern... it was like I had suddenly forgotten how to crochet at all! At least theres always tomorrow :')

What's Challenging Me: My motivation for everything has been very low lately. I cannot wait until Winter has passed and I can start moving around more outside.

Oof, so true. It's sunny and 56 F (11 C) here today and I just want to stay indoors.

Up here in Michigan we just had our 3rd ice storm of 2023 yesterday. I took a nap and just hoped the power stayed on. Snow is one thing, but all this ice is stressful!

I'm enjoying having the house to myself even as I worry about my parents (they made the bad decision to travel during the huge Southern California storm, got their car stuck, can't find a tow, and are in a Motel 6 until further notice. And even once they get the car, they may or may not be able to get over the mountains to actually get up to Grandpa's or to get home)

Been watching Avatar the Last Airbender and trying to finish some art.

They made it up to Grandpa's today! My uncle, who lives on this side of the mountains, went up with his 4x4 truck to get to their car before another storm came in.

I did lots of cooking this weekend. Yesterday I made pickles, 3 jars of red cabbage & 1 jar of red onion.

Today I made some Mexican curry( a fusion of Japanese curry & Mexican flavors), Mexican red rice & pupusas. The pupusas are a new recipe but the others are familiar.
