I've been queuing up a bunch of stuff for https://www.tumblr.com/blog/rainbowfic including making up/finding a bunch of image and one word prompts.

I finished a knit hat yesterday. Today I did some meal prep including ordering groceries, making a batch of refried beans & chicken stock. The beans are done & the stock is going in the pressure cooker.

I am looking for a knitting pattern for a week long trip... also looking into making a neocities site but am quickly realizing that the time and energy I had for HTML garbage when I was in elementary school making a neopets doll site is like. not there, lol.

I did some beginner quilting stuff! I practiced cutting strips and squares with some large-ish scraps. I did a good job of cutting each fabric in consistent-sized squares, but not as good a job of making sure the fabrics were the same size as each other. If that makes sense.

I made two basic 9-patch blocks. The first one came out okay, the second one was pretty wonky.

Then I tried making some half-square triangles. These came out moderately wonky. Then I tried to cut them down to a consistent size and that's when it all went horribly wrong. I assembled them into a mini pinwheel anyway but it's pretty terrible.

I did get my quilting software (Electric Quilt 8, a.k.a. EQ8) today and have started playing with that. It's basically SimQuilt, and promises to be hours of fun.

I've got the theme schedule set up for summerofthe69, and am quite looking forward to the event opening next Friday!

I also made this month's public post for kittens_and_spitefic (with a note to those who are unfamiliar with the community to please check the community profile and/or intro post before getting too far in).

And! I washed all my laundry today. I still need to sort and fold it, but it's all clean, and my dirty laundry basket is going to be empty for at least a couple of hours!

So today is going to be busy, because I'm taking my son out for his birthday (how is he 23?) and doing some errands. Then on top of that, I have a ton of laundry to do.

But, what have I accomplished?

- signed up for OT at the day job
- finished a book, started another one
- almost finished editing on Steampunk
- looking at other things to finish writing

I've started my little "birthday month project". Just that. I should work on the bingos with deadlines and my neglected WIPs but I'm barely having the energy to write 260 words daily.
