my writing week went really good actually! I wrote the first chapter of a thing, part of the first chapter of another thing, and the entirety of a third thing

(I meant to write the second chapter of that first thing, but idk what happened)

(I mean I know some of what happened, the latest kittens_and_spitefic post rang some bell in my head, but I sat down to write the second chapter and got an unrelated one-shot)

meanwhile I have been sitting here for four hours meaning to write the second chapter of that first thing, more of the second thing, or any of the thing I mentioned in ffw_social re fan_flashworks which is a fourth thing

hellooo it's my first saturday off in about four months! including having done double-shift for almost a third of those T_T so today I've done nothing 'productive' - or, I've been recharging, and it's GREAT! some cooking and editing so far, and I might get some more progress on a birthday present for later this month :)

I haven't read that much, I guess I'm a little "burned out" from July Break Bingo. I've spent most of the last few days typing up writing idead & prompt lists because I can't take a bunch of papers and such when I move.

I went through the old bin of papers to pick out a few pieces of old artwork to use for a gallery series. Photographed them, edited to clean up the images, and then put them together in an article with descriptions.

That much closer to having a reasonable amount of work in the Gallery before making it visible.

trying to get as much ready for work as I can because in spite of asking to not have the first round novel edits sent to me in August because of school start up, guess when the publisher is sending them

thanks. I am a little surprised by the publisher. They've had it for months and I'm wondering did I tell them the wrong month or did they write it down wrong or it's just when the editor could do it. If it was a second edit it wouldn't be so bad but it's going to be 90K of edits right during ramp up time. Sigh.

I moved even more stuff out of the craft room, and have started moving 'active' craft projects into some sensible locations. Worked out that one of the reasons that the stalled quilt wasn't right is because I'd missed a section of the pattern. But I now have the fabric for that in a pile, and maybe I'm up to actually dealing with it. It isn't news to me that 'being able to see where things are at' helps me with motivation, but I really just had too much in there and couldn't get unstuck.

Also discovered another quilt that just needs binding. I think this one is small enough I can do square binding, so the next task on that is finding the right fabric for it.

I've had that too much in there and get frozen by it all moment too with my beading. Yay for getting some of it moved into reasonable piles. good luck with the quilt

Yesterday I started sewing together the first quilt block. Despite judicious use of washi tape on the front of the machine, I discovered (a) I was having one of those days where I couldn't sew straight, or at least not parallel to anything useful; and (b) I hadn't cut the strips correctly in the first place (they were quite consistently all too narrow at one end!).

So I repurposed the strips for seam practice. Now I have a collection of half-inch wide scraps with seams of varying wonkiness piling up in the bin. Today I'll cut new strips, do as much more seam practice as I can, and then try again.

I've been poking at several things including working on my map of Thundera for my conlang site, working on the art for WIP Big Bang, and doing Rainbowfic stuff on tumblr and DW.

I should be cleaning my room and office and I will. Probably. Before my parents get back.

I did some serious work on my crossworks assignment today, and some pretty impressive cleaning/rearranging stuff the other day. :D My most recently revealed fanart is a Katniss & Rue (The Hunger Games) one. :)
