I'm trying to get caught up on promised stuff at rainbowlounge and I'll probably work more on the character designs for the isekai I'm poking at.

Mostly I've worked / pretended to work because there's no actual work, and I've been reading more. I just finished The Secret Lives of Color by Kassia St. Clair, which is an adaption of a column she did talking about the history of specific colors. It was really interesting and she cites her sources really well so now I have a dozen more books in my 'want to read' list

Finally putting together a couple of series posts.

Most of the current art for those isn't going to be used - they're portraits, and as realistic as currently possible, but the features are a lot harder to get right (especially working from memory and close-enough models). They're good practice, still.

I finished that bunch of marble mazes I was working on, and have them up for sale at a convention art show this weekend! I also added some headbands and hair clips to some crocheted Futurama-style brain slugs to sell at the same event.

This week, I aim to finally write up a pattern for these cat charms:



I'm hoping to offer the pattern as a donation incentive for relief in Gaza, though I haven't quite decided on how to go about it yet. I don't know of any official fandom fundraisers for it, and even if I do well at the convention art show I'll be shorter on cash than I'd like, but I can't do nothing. I'll figure something out, I'm sure.

I'm still working on my spook_me story while dealing with some bad health news

As usual, I have overloaded my plate, but this week I would like to:

Finish cleaning and wrapping for storage the paintings that didn't go up for my art show.

I'm doing the 2023 mitt-athon, and this week, I'd like to finish sewing up the two I have knitted and finish knitting the one in progress (it's 2 different pairs).

Finish setting out the Halloween village pieces that don't need work done to them.

And try to see how many of my October writing prompts I can get done for the drabble challenge at the froday comm (and maybe make some headway on my spook me fic).

I feel like I am missing things, but I just started a new job and this is already a stretch, so I'm going to pretend I'm not.

Got a pretty big essay to write, spent all of yesterday playing with an experimental operating system(EasyOS) instead. Gonna get it all done today.
