I haven't gotten up to much aside from work, but I did manage to buy the issue I was missing from the most recent Usagi Yojimbo run.

I'm still working on adding comics to the Grand Comics Database (comics.org) when necessary, and to my Libib library and my collection on my.comics.org

The week was mostly a loss, but today I figured out how to unstuck myself on starting right now I'll be strong, so I got a hundred story words and three hundred outline-this-scene words down, woo!

(a fic where multiple major plot points are secretly about me processing the death of my pet needs the next plot point to be half centered on, not entirely unrelated to, the PoV character processing the death of his pet. imagine that.)

(I couldn't figure out what was going to spawn the Victuuri miscommunication at the restaurant before Cup of China. the one idea I had is both better set at the banquet after the competition, for several reasons, and would be very difficult to navigate in a way that gave Victor the impression Yuuri was trying to date Yuuko, without anyone immediately noticing and correcting this.)

(but if the miscommunication is over which Victor made Sochi GPF so upsetting to Yuuri that he wishes he could forget the entire month—)

I finished knitting the second gill fern for the knitted axolotl that I'm working on. The popcorn stitches at this gauge are hard on the hands, so I've been working on them a little at a time.

The story that ate February continues, but it's almost over. /weeps. I'm just trying to get it done.

Also, my sister is finally moved, so my weekends are mine again. I'm also on the next to last move of the hoop for my cross stitch, before I start outlining and then it's done, so that's a thing.

At least recently this week, I finished some artwork that I am using for my Neocities website and actually shared it on my recent journal entry. I often have a bad habit of making something and not sharing it when I know others do enjoy my work (or I just share with a few people...when I know I can share it with a lot of others, too). It's not something I have a huge hang up on in a negative way, but I definitely feel like I shouldn't be as shy about my work, either (it's the perfectionism talking, unfortunately).

I'm on spring break and I just got bitten by a new story so I hope to work on that

Yesterday was mostly RL being very RL and I didn't get any reading done (I've been working on proofreading my way through my novel the past week), but I hope to catch up today and if I have the spoons, read an extra chapter, so I might actually manage to finish on time next week... I'm also slowly making ready to submit my fic for smallfandombang which is due 31st of March. I did end up finding a beta for it, they've promised to read over it the week after next!

Mostly, though, I'm mentally preparing for my birthday which is coming up on the 20th, so that might eat some of my time and energy.

I am still sick and I am getting too old for this ****. I've punted as many real-world obligations as I can. I skipped going to the quilting guild in person. Maybe next month.

I have been messing about on Reddit and of course have found Yet More Inspo for layouts for the memory quilt. Sigh. "It's not procrastination, it's RESEARCH." Yeah, that's the ticket.

In my defense I should not cut fabric when I am sick.

Today I am making some disappearing 9-patch blocks for research. I've already made several crooked cuts that needed to be redone. I'm feeling pretty good about not touching the good stuff.

Work is continuing to suck all the joy and motivation out of me. On the bright side I have been playing TFT (Teamfight Tactics) competitively and I am all the way up to Silver II in Ranked. It's one of our games and I work in data, so I can definitely fall back on the "It's Research" defense if anyone calls me out on it.

I took a 2 day class to learn how to weave on the inkle loom. So now I can make belts, purse straps, shoelaces, decorative edging for things.
