I have been out of work for just under 1 month.

I went to the Celebration of Needlework in Nashua a few weeks back and met up with an old friend. I didn't spend TOO much at the vendors. (Narrator: She spent too much.) And of course I wanted something simple to work on while I was there so I bought a "small" Mill Hill cross stitch/beading kit and now I have ANOTHER project on the go. In my defense a fair bit of it is already done.

I cut some fabric squares for the memory quilt project, and made a spreadsheet. I'm now having an extended moment of panic because I've gotten to the first rayon shirt and HOLY CRAP rayon is slippery and wiggly.

Unfortunately I have been having a run of really bad brain days. I'm just self-aware enough to know that I should not touch live fabric on those days. But I am getting stressed out about the back of progress on the project.

I have also been doing a hell of a lot of yard work. It's fun and kind of soothing, but OMG it never ends.

On the creative side of yard work, I wrote a little song about garlic mustard and other invasive plants:

This is the weed that never ends
It just goes on and on my friends
Some people started growing it not knowing what it was
And now we're stuck with growing it forever just because
This is the weed that never ends....
(Repeat until chased out of the room)
