... I have opinions about Christmas Creep, and the assumption that only (Protestant) Christan holidays matter, okay?

What are you working on? What have you finished? What do you need encouragment on? Are there any cool events or challenges happening that you want to hype? What do you just want to talk about?

Chores and other not-fun things count!

Remember to encourage other commenters and we have a discord where we can do work-alongs and stuff, linked in the sticky

I made more practice art, studied some 1 point perspective (there's a lot you can glean with just careful reading!), studied a bit about comic storytelling, worked more on my comic (2 pages and it's funnier than I want but idk how else to end it so I'm rolling with it), did some anatomy practice which has helped me figure out a bit more about my own art style/how I like to draw. Oh and I drew a tiny and fat birb and turned him into a cartoon :3 i'm also developing a more nervous system friendly lifestyle so my creative habits don't kill me. I hate taking it easy but it's the true way to success.

I've been so tired and swamped this week, I feel sad because I really need to like, catch up on the ecnouraging comments here and also gotta give myself more credit because I have done a lot more than I believed!

I wish everyone both a happy Halloween and a happy Dios Des Los Meurtos

oof I feel you about the nervous system part 🥲 don't overlook what hard work that is, on top of all the direct creative work and just living day to day

I know what you mean about feeling sad because you don't think you did as much as you really did. It's hard to learn to be kinder to ourselves. It sounds like you did do a lot. The tiny fat birb sounds awesome

I finished NaCraMaMo! I managed to craft SOMETHING all 31 days ! I finished *9* baby hats, an autumn wreath, and two small knitted butterflies, washed a LOT of yarn, repaired 5 objects, did some baking, and worked intermittently on a latch hook rug.

For November, I'm doing the NaCLYoHo Month ( NATIONAL CLEAN YOUR HOME MONTH) challenge. I made a list and everything, and I'm off to a decent start.

That's a seriously impressive number of crafts! How did you balance your time and energy for that?

Thank you. And VERY carefully, and sometimes not, especially for the birthday baking. But the knitting is sitting down, and the hats take maybe take an hour and 15 minutes, and most of the time, I didn't knit them in one sitting. There was a lot of "just a little at a time" with most of the things I did.

Great work, and good luck on the deep clean!! Were the hats for anyone or were they a donation?

Thank you! The hats are going to a NPO that distributes them as needed.

Holy crap that's a lot. Fantastic. I should do the clean your home month stuff but I'll only be here part of the month. Good luck to you. Glad you're off and running

Taking a break from 1290 to work on a 1990s story, same universe, but with dragons.

Good: I'm cross-stitching again!
Bad: Even with my new prescription, I need to take my glasses off to see to stitch.

I'm glad for you; I'm hoping that I can get better enough that cross-stitch is no longer a trial for me, but for now it's just too fiddly. Is taking off the glasses good enough, or were you hoping that the glasses meant you wouldn't HAVE to take them off?

I was kind of hoping I wouldn't need to take them off, but my vision is deteriorating along with the rest of me. At least I'm not farsighted. My arms wouldn't nearly be long enough.

Yay for cross stitching. Less exciting about the glasses situation (sort of like me if I need to do close up work I need to have the contacts out because me taking off my glasses is better than any reading glasses I can find)
