The night before thanksgiving I made two kinds of cookies to take & I mended a small hole in my partner's shirt. Both were a success! The cookies were well received & the mend wasn't noticed by my partner at all. He prefers invisible mending so I'm happy about that.

Tonight I darned a hole in one of my socks & I sorted my leftover threads. I still have 3 socks with holes to darn but I'll do it later.

I'm happy about the cookies and the mending! Is darning hard to do? I haven't but I am curious to try! It seems like such a waste to throw out a pair of socks over one little hole.

I got a darning kit to help me learn but it's fairly easy. This video short is a good example of the technique. I just used embroidery thread that matched the sock.

......What recipes did you try?

Also how hard is invisible mending? It sounds tough.

Invisible mending is trying to mend so the mend doesn't show & it looks like the new garment. In this case I use a thread that matched and stiches that matched the striped patten of the shirt.

I tried a new recipe for pecan shortbread. https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/pecan-shortbread/
