I'm working on my OC zine, slowly but surely! This is my latest page; I need to glue the character down and add some extra bells and whistles before I scan it in and do the final colours digitally, but I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Just adulting things this week. I'm very VERY tired.
I did some analysis/practiced media literacy! It's actually really fun :)

I also practiced more graphic making (what a fun hobby)

I read so much more Sonic The Comic and a little bit of Beyond Good and Evil..... Those are always lovely.

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to finish the old apartment. I'm exhausted and want to get to the fun part of UNpacking. (Is there a fun part?)

But, it's the LAST DAY and I plan on just getting it DONE.

Gosh, I'm tired too. Got a lot of digital archiving done, working on detangling from billionaire-led big tech companies. Next week, I'm going to try to get my family's taxes done, and re-caulk the tub in the spare bathroom.

Working through the mending pile - I think my sewing is getting faster, and darning and hemming is making me feel more confident about making things from scratch! (That one is... still super intimidating.)

I'd like to finish knitting the current giant blanket in the next couple of weeks, too, and in an ideal world, get some writing done. It's been a while since I really had much mental energy to write, and I want to do more.

One thing that made it easier for me to make things from scratch is to declare that the first 3 of ANYTHING are for practice. :)

That's a good rule of thumb! I keep being hung up on the idea that what I make will look silly, which I know isn't useful, but gosh, it's hard to break out of. I can afford to screw up three pairs of pants, though, if need be. :)

Ah, I traditionally lean in to the silliness, by making mockups from the most outrageous quilting cottons. G-d only knows what I'm going to do now, with Jo-Ann going out of business.

Yesterday, I did a couple of jewelry fix-its for other people. Today, I finished darning a sock, did the finishing work on a baby hat, and, because I couldn't find my scissors, tidied my chairside crafting area.

For today's chores, I made yogurt, and cleaned the lower third of my refrigerator (insert rant #3459 about how people who design things like refrigerators never think about having to actually clean those things!)

I am SO with you on cleaning fridges (and my idiot kitchen design has the door against the wall. Good luck getting in there without hauling the fridge out of its spot)

Chemo has started so all I had energy for yesterday was working through a pile o'books and being a resting place for my cat. Today I'm going to do my taxes because I live a thrilling life.

I finished the 4th Christmas Pusheen! Am I 2 months late, or 10 months early? Who cares! I finished something.

That's all of the little Pusheens done. I wanted another relatively easy project to work on in between hard ones. I picked a design (Deer Path) out of the book Cross-Stitch in the Forest, because it has just 4 colors so (a) I can substitute colors from my stash and (b) how hard could it be?

For (b), let's just say I'm laughing maniacally and having regrets. It's gonna be awesome but it is NOT going to be the mindless project I thought I needed.

Argh! I just discovered that the next darker green is the exact same colour as the fabric. Time to see if DMC makes a 988 that's between 989 (I'm using for the medium green) and 987 (too dark) in colour; also how tf to get my hands on some without either driving an hour or feeding the Walmart goblin.

Yes, I substituted... no, "forest green aida" is not what you'd call an exact specification either.
