Better late than never! Time to check in about last week and tell us your plans about next week.

Remember, you're not limited on getting support about creative projects - chores, homework, whatever is open too

I was about to go into this post bemoaning that I haven't done anything creative in ages, but I have actually been doing a few simple 3D models for a friend who is working on a game. I am very very new to 3D modeling, but having a list of items to make is much easier than going off on my own. I always want to make humans, and those are so hard to model. Turns out making things like silverware and dish sets is easy enough even for me. Even if they are all inside out for some reason.

My brain has been stuck on gardening for the past few weeks though. I guess it's a good season for it. I have my own yard for the first time in my life and I'm overflowing with ideas for it. For now, I've just been going out every once and a while and pulling up some invasive vines that are growing around the edges, and my room-mate and I rearranged the absolutely awful flagstone path someone put down before. Once it settles it will look Much better.

I can't really do too much gardening until we get someone in to get rid of all the stumps in the yard (previous owners cut down every single tree :( ) and they're not coming until next week...but once they're done, the plan is to try and de-thatch as well as I can with a rake and then spread some clover seed to try and start conditioning our awful clay soil. I've been looking into a few native groundcover plants as well, so I might get some other seeds to spread in with the clover and just kind of see what grows and what doesn't.

You know, I guess gardening is creative work, too.

If getting into modeling human shaped things is a thing you wanna work on, I recommend picking one aspect of it to start with. Change a face, rig an existing model, play with software that generates human models like MakeHuman (is that still around? I hope that's still around but I'm sure there are others like it), or make 3d stick figures and just keep adding whatever details call to you.
It's a big intimidating thing to try to think about all at once, break it down!

You got started though, that's the hard part. Good job!
