I got some writing done this week and drabble_zone's prompt came out today, so that will be the next writing project. I'm also still working on the house to get it ready to sell. Not exactly craative, but I got my hands on Girl Scout cookies today for the first time in 2 years. Yay--Thin Mints and whatever the Chocolate Peanut Butter are called.

I crocheted four hippos!



They're all purple because a friend of mine commissioned a purple hippo from me, but I didn't (and still don't) know what purple she wants, so I figured I'd make one in every purple I have and see what she picks 😜 I ran out of the mixed purple I used for the rightmost hippo and had to swap a different solid in, but on the plus side it looks like it's wearing a sweater, which is adorable.

I also finally finished a pair of sheet straps for the middle section of my fitted sheets; I toss and turn enough that just fastening down the corners is insufficient, and if I don't do anything I end up sleeping on a roll of rumpled up cloth. I'd previously been holding the middle down with an extra set of store-bought sheet straps (two per side and holding on to a spare pillow case in the middle, since they don't stretch far enough on their own), but that wasn't holding on as well as I would've liked. So I sewed a pair of ribbon loops at roughly thirds on each long side of my fitted sheet, got some strapping, sewed some plastic hooks to either end of those, and just got it all set up tonight! They're like suspenders for my fitted sheet 😂 Anyway, I'm cautiously optimistic for how this'll turn out. Worse comes to worst, I can just go back to regular sheet straps plus pillowcase, which is still better than nothing.

Started carving some bird pendants (I have two finished, these two are the second batch and they're turning out nice!). I have a character drawing commission from a friend that I *really* need to get started on. I'm excited about it, I just...haven't started yet.

Basswood! I'm still pretty beginner at carving, and basswood is very soft. I'm using a power tool, though, so I'd like to move on to harder, prettier woods when I get the chance. Particularly want to try cherry. :)

I finised drawing a non-sexual nude during D&D! I had started this spontaneously in an earlier session because I doodled and somehow thought "This looks like it'd make a good nude" and so... yeah. I've never drawn one before (NSFW) Here it is!.

Tecnnically I did this art LAST week but ehh. have a quick doodle of myself with rat in my hair I did with a migraine. I've had a LOT of migraines lately. oTL

I've also been practicing Korean by using Naver dictionary and translating the original korean version of Dandelion: Wishes Brought to you. I put every word and grammar thing I am unfamiliar with into an Anki deck so I can practice them as part of my daily Anki. I'm only partway through the first "chapter" and it's already pretty big... in any case this is both korean learning practice and me preparing for writing a fanfic

I've been knitting on big knitting project, which is going well. The back piece of the robe is over halfway done. After that it's time for the shaped pieces, which is more challenging.

Also I need to work on my taxes this weekend. :(

I have been working on a piece for a Reverse Big Bang all week which was the most effort I have put in an artwork for a long time. I also did a drawesome challenge yesterday.

I have been really, really feeling the burnout lately, but this is a three-day weekend, so hopefully it lets me recharge a bit. I have three different papers I'm trying to work on and did little chunks of work on all of them today, which of course means I made no noticeable progress on any of them. (I just have to hope that all the bits of work are adding up to something.) And last night I poked a bit at a completely self-indulgent story that absolutely no one asked for more of, just for fun. And made a playlist for some OCs, so that was fun!
