Answer me these questions three, ere the other side you see

WHAT have you gotten done?
WHAT do you need support for?
WHAT is your the most recent movie you've watched?

I just finished my yearly original fiction word goal of 50K so I'm happy with that.

I need to concentrate on the five outstanding projects I have

I made my monthly crafting update in my journal, here: https://xnera.dreamwidth.org/1091942.html

The big news is I finished two major projects: a blanket for my niece's high school graduation, and a doll of one of my Final Fantasy XIV characters wearing gear from the game. I'm VERY pleased with both.

What I need to do next: Nerdopolis projects in August (I'm aiming for all six craft challenges) but in a way that doesn't aggravate my hands and wrists so much. I did a LOT of crafting this month, and it made me quite sore. I feel almost normal today but yeah, I need to listen to my body and take breaks if my hands complain.

Last movie I watched: I was going to go BwAHAHAHAHA to this because it's really rare I watch movies or TV these days and I thought it'd been several years since I last watched one, but then I remembered I did watch a movie this year: Kingsglaive, the prequel movie to Final Fantasy XV. It's a pretty good movie! I watched it because I had planned on streaming the game for my dedicated Twitch viewer and the movie gives a lot of backstory that's missing from the game.

I have nearly finished one (of 3) designs from the hated Pusheen kit. Edit: Finished!

I have made progress on a test stitch for some alternative yellow-orange shades for the fourth Art Nouveau season.

I helped make some VERY clean surfaces in our house.

I need support in not feeling terrible when things go horribly wrong at work through lack of planning. I can't hold it all together myself.

I need to somehow learn how not to let the cats drive me crazy when they jump up on things or play with the wires behind my computer.

I watched Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, or as a friend put it, "Dr. Strange and the Whatever." It did not make a great deal of sense, although it had some interesting character development for Wanda.

Edited to add: I also need more wine.
And to finish some of these cross stitch projects I've already started before starting yet more new ones.

Join me in the dark side! What's wrong with having multiple projects going? (I've got 4 in rotation, plus Elisabeth, plus 1 small but I'm thinking about starting another small. And that's a low number for me and I keep thinking I need a new start :)

You say that like I actually have a rotation.

I have (consults bullet journal) 11 cross-stitch projects in various states of incompletion, one of which I'm pretty sure I bought in high school. Not to mention the sewing projects. And the stained glass project... and the attempts at learning beading and crochet...

Would a rotation help? I started it because I get bored with the same project, and there are places in the journey I always get bogged down (50-80% through depending on size of project, where I can see the end but it still feels SO FAR AWAY). So I decided rotating would keep me motivated through the slog, and give me variety.

I've tried doing a rotation in the past and I've never been able to stick to it.

At the moment, a rotation would be extra difficult because I corralled all the WIPs into a big plastic tub as part of the Great Craft Room Unwedging of 2021. Oops.

I think for right now, my "rotation" is going to be something like, do a small easy piece and then FINISH SOMETHING ELSE, repeat until dead. Or until we retire & move to a much bigger place where I can spread out my WIPs again.

Of course this has not stopped me from working on the test colors for Autumn......

This weekend was 7 stitching sessions (4 on Mushrooms, 2 on Ariel, 1 on Halloween Mill Hill piece), 3 books, a load of delicates laundry, and helping my husband find a van to rent that has cruise control. I could use support to survive August heat (I hate heat), and we didn't watch a movie this Saturday (unusual for us), but I watched Steel Magnolias (fine) and Destination Wedding (pretentious and terrible) while stitching.

Also, since I'm here, my monthly stitching tracking:

Last month I said:

- finish a round on the fall wedding sampler - yup, plus I figured out where their names and date will go; still need to figure out the hardanger at the bottom
- finish a round on Edith - yup
- finish the Halloween MH design I started in FL in March - nope, did get restarted on it, but only 1 session and I need 1-2 more
- figure out what my new small piece will be - nope, might be a MH penguins piece, or might be a Bothy silhouette piece
- go swimming as much as I can - did twice a week except for 1 week where I did once
- survive work - still here

I also finished a round on Mushrooms and started a round of Ariel.

Next month I would like to:

- finish the round of Ariel
- finish a round on fall wedding sampler
- finish a round on Edith
- finish the Halloween MH design
- start a new "small" piece (the Bothy silhouette isn't small, but occupies this slot)
- go swimming 2xweek until the pool closes on 8/12, then find a way to swim 1xweek
- survive work and planning season
