I have six WIP Wednesday Tumblr asks to write stuff for, because I asked people to send more because this was proving to be a winning strategy, and I would be much gladder of these if I could, you know, write stuff for them

I'm working on NaNo. This will consume my November. I'm attempting to get to 6700.

However, I am in so much pain right now. My body just... is giving up and I don't know what to do.

I am getting close to finishing the geogradient shawl from Westknits, so that's exciting.

I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year but sending good vibes to everyone trying!

Set up for the last page of a comic.

Clip Studio's pain in the second-to-last has me wondering if the pages should have been scaled down.

Our internet was down for 9 hours today and it's gone down briefly several times since it came back, so I'm checking in while I can.

Last week I:
-Sewed up 1/3 pairs of mittens
-Prepped outside for trick or treaters
-Knitted on my hat
-Helped teach character creation and basic game play for D&D
-Closed the fall fest bingo at allbingo (with my co-host) and got a friend to make the prize banners
-Carved a pumpkin
-Finished my costume
-Bought yarn for a shawl request
-Finished making ghost goody bags for the trick or treaters
-Made a sushi brain for Halloween dinner
-Finished a financial report covering 5 bank accounts for 2 fiscal years

This week I'm going to:
-Present the financial report
-Hopefully, finally, get the paintings put away
-I am also doing MiFuNoSo this month, so hopefully I will catch up with the fics I didn't get done

I have also been asked to knit a pair of slippers, but I don't have the yarn or measurements I need to get started, so I doubt that is happening this week.

Last weekend I practiced cutting squares on some low-stakes quilting cotton, in preparation for making the memory quilt.

Wednesday I had the day off. Among other things, I *finally* embroidered my name on the name tag I got from the quilting guild... an hour before the monthly meeting. But hey, I got it done! Including a perfect French knot which unfortunately did not line up with the 'i' beneath it. Next time I'm doing the French knot(s) first lol.

This weekend my husband and I built the frame of the greenhouse! Well. He did the building and I stood around either making things move, or making them not move, as I was told; and asking occasional questions.

This afternoon I am drinking tea and taking ibuprofen, and awaiting a visit from an old friend who is in the area. Oh, and I cleaned the house. Phew.

Hi all, I just joined. I'm working on a weird, patchwork version NaNoWriMo where I'm counting anything I write as part of my overall wordcount. This includes writing for work (I'm a therapist), writing for a class I'm taking, writing collaboratively with a friend for a D&D campaign I'm DMing, and original writing including a fantasy series I've been working on forever, poetry, and some non-fiction, autobiographical posts I've been meaning to write for a while. There are some other odds-and-ends projects as well. I made a huge list of them on my journal just to make sure I didn't run out of stuff to work on. So far I've hit my wordcount every day, so I'm really starting to appreciate how much I'm getting accomplished in the average month where my wordcount isn't being monitored.

Also, I just recently re-joined DW after having some nostalgia about my Livejournal days. Maybe I'll have a snippet of something to share here soon.

I'm working on NaNo as well. Sorry to hear that you're in pain. Does it affect your typing or ability to sit at a computer? I've known a few folks who got pretty good with the speech-to-text thing, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

From: [personal profile] illariy
I had planned to do about 30 min of penpal letter writing and about 15 min on that penpal crafting project. Both were a bust because uni took a lot of my time and I also had 2 late shifts last weekend, which leaves me with 2 days on which I get nothing done except work. So I am just accepting that that is how it went. At least I finished 2 letters earlier last week.

I hope to do this week:
- 30 min of penpal letter writing
- 5 min on the penpal crafting project
- as much rest and prioritising sleep as my schedule allows

:-)

Welcome to the comm! Good to have you here :-)

Oh, cool, you're a therapist! A very challenging job, I feel. (I have a degree in psychology, currently do social work but am pivoting to statistics.)

Your version of NaNo sounds good, especially given the amount of different projects you are juggling. Yay for hitting your wordcount every day so far! :D

Yes, I would love to see a snippet if you are able to share. ;-) I was on LJ previously, too, and still miss the [livejournal.com profile] wrisomifu comm on there.

Helloes! Love your icon. :D

Yes, I share your feelings about not feeling good about the quality of one's writing. The last time I wrote something and shared it was about 10 years ago, hehe. I have been thinking of getting back into writing, though, because it made me feel so good when I used to do it regularly. The thing is even if you write, no one says you have to share it online if you don't feel comfortable. And I think once you are writing more often, maybe you are going to come up with something that you at least want to pass on to a beta reader and see what they say. But of course, it's perfectly fine just to write for yourself. :-) I hope you can get a chance to put in a writing session this week or this month.

Wow, lots of stuff you got done last week, I am impressed! What a variety of things you got done, too.

How is the financial report presentation going? Or if it hasn't happened yet, best of luck for it! Best of luck for putting away the paintings and doing some writing, too. :-)

Thank you for the welcome! Feel free to friend me if you want. I'll definitely find a snippet to share here before the month is over. Nice to meet another psych person! I did a research thesis during my master's, so I admire anyone who can do stats as a job. And I was a caseworker for a little over a year, so I definitely have an appreciation for social work as well.

Helloes again! Sorry about the late reply, my RL was very busy last month.

I did finally subscribe to your journal as I love what you are doing with documenting your writing. I am trying to get into (fannish) writing again.

Did you share a snippet here? I didn't see it so if I missed it somehow, perhaps you could link me to the comment? :-)
