this week has SUCKED but I've been doing basically as little 'work' as possible, in favour of resting & other things that help me recharge, so the last couple days have seen slow improvement ...

& then yesterday I managed to have my first Woods Day is MONTHS, & y'all, I REALLY need to prioritize that more than I've been. I feel SO MUCH BETTER today.

I'm not gonna dive right into trying to get a zillionty things done every day again, because I've learned THAT lesson the hard way, but yesterday I got a pendant & three pairs of earrings done, & so far today I've done a bunch of website tweaking & put some (HILARIOUS) cat pictures up on my Patreon. I'm hoping to get more Patreon posts written up, do some dishes, & maybe -- I HOPE -- finally do a batch of lip balm, cos I am WAY behind on that.

tbh I don't need encouragement so much as I need someone to remind me to do things like 'eat' & 'have some water' & 'maybe take a shower' & 'go the hell outside it is gorgeous today' >.>

OH the one thing I've been doing a lot of is sewing (thanks Silvercat for reminding me!), cos it's mostly good for my brainparts. This week I patched a hole in the butt of a pair of shorts I made a bunch of years back, & added some fabric to the side seams of a shirt I love so it fits more comfortably, & then I embroidered a bunch of it, added a patch just for decoration, embroidered all over THAT, & lastly, added some decorative buttons. I'll post pics at some point but I'm wearing it right now.

Just finished a thing of water BUT it would probably be good if I refilled it! & yeah it's time to stop NOT having lunch & instead, have lunch.

It is, alas, too wooshy for outsides today. It is often wooshy here, which, alas, makes it harder to do outsides.

I have found that there's a nice corner in my backyard that's not so bad even when it's wooshy outside. Nice spot to hang out for a little. Maybe eat breakfast there. Maybe you can find a protected spot like that?
Or hang out near a window at least. Seeing outside is better than nothing.

I finished my second needle felting project this week. It's a pink bunny!

I am slowly working on a hat, which I could actually use some encouragement on. My first try was way too big. I dropped down in yarn size and waaaay down in hook size, and IT'S STILL TOO BIG! I did accidentally add stitches; I'm supposed to have 90 after the decrease round but I have 94. I need to decide if I want to rip back and fix the stitch count issue, or just fudge it and do more decreases.

I also worked a bit on a blanket. I really need to get moving on it, as it's a graduation present.

Finally: yesterday morning I woke up to a really nice comment on one of my AO3 works. That made my day.

doing more decreases is a lot less hassle, but it won't fit the same, probably. I expect it'll be more roomy if you do more decreases than if you go back and fix the stitch count.

i will probably eat some more, as it's almost lunchtime... then i will set up a community here on dreamwidth that i've been wanting to create for a long time, and afterwards maybe try to do something related to writing, maybe some graphics as i've been very discouraged about writing. how is your day going?

I have accidentally stayed up all night because what is a sleep schedule. On the upside, I have written more in the past few hours than I have in a long time, so that's cool. I still haven't figured out how to write the beginning of this story, but I managed to get started by starting in the middle.

Sounds like some good stuff you have planned! What sort of community, if you don't mind sharing?

I don't remember the last time I stayed up all night, but some days I have been going to sleep at 2am even taking my meds at 10pm.

It's a music community! I'm trying to get more friends into Dreamwidth, so I thought of creating a comm in which they can share what they are listening to. It probably won't work, though, but in any case, I will have some place to post about what I like listening to.

I don't generally think that much about what I listen to. Been a lot of the Transistor and Hades soundtracks on repeat in my garage while I work. One of my friends has gotten really into sea shanties recently and I am rediscovering my love for them as well.

I am actively working on: "Transposer", which is a one-shot I will hopefully finish today or tomorrow; "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", which had better be a one-shot and for which I need to either ditch the setup for a thing or get over myself and write the thing; more like spears than hearts, which I think I got stuck because Alya is not in fact the next PoV character—the question, then, is who is, and the choices may be Alya's siblings, Alya's mother, and Lila—and which I think I have an ending for now; where the firelight fades, which I left off in the middle of a tense moment and am not sure how to get rolling again, augh. I also want to be working on the podfic for

Socchan's Your Flavor and on my pechakuchas for

vexercises.

I made it out to the garage today after around 2 weeks of barely being able to get out of bed, and finally made some progress on a woodworking project. I am still really struggling with how to do the next step though. I decided to attempt miter joints on this project, and have been having a hard time getting them straight on my practice pieces. The miter sled I made for my table saw was a disaster; officially declared it a failure and disassembled it today.

Yesterday I started an outline for what will be the first story I've written in years... if I can manage to get started actually writing it. Having a very hard time finding the words.

Decided to stop trying to start at the beginning, and got some of the middle part written! Only a bit more than a page, but better than I've been managing for a long time.

YAY woodworking! Miter joints, I'm impressed, I'm still working on the whole 'cutting two pieces of wood to the same length' part.

... which hasn't stopped me from building a tiny house on wheels/portable craft show booth, which, now that I think of it, is a bit concerning, but it hasn't fallen apart yet, so.

I am definitely still learning myself. Mostly everything I know has come from youtube, nobody's actually taught me anything.

Once I've actually done the joints, we can be impressed lol. I'm still having a hard time figuring out how to cut them evenly on large pieces with my little table saw.

Good job making a thing that hasn't fallen apart! Always a nice bonus when it doesn't fall apart.
