You can find my latest rats over here! You may recognize a few from last week, I've kinda lost track of what I've posted where πŸ˜… I have also officially implemented my custom fancy rat mood theme at my journal 😊 I'm really looking forward to using moods in all of my personal posts, so I can see cute ratties

On a related note, [community profile] moodthemeinayear has finished the first leg of the "official" suggested schedule, and will begin the second leg on Monday! Now is a great time to jump in if you're interested in making your own mood theme; you can follow along with the suggested community schedule, start at the beginning, or create your own schedule as you go! As long as you end up with something you're happy with in a time frame you're happy with, you will have met the goal of the community.

In brickspace, I successfully rotated my mattress, changed and washed the sheets, washed all of my bathroom linens, and all of my other laundry! I still have to fold and store socks and underthings, but at the moment the only dirty clothes in my hamper are from yesterday.

I've been working on editing my novel, Lest They Leave. It's been through two betas now and I've slowly implemented the notes I've got from them. Still waiting on one beta, but then that part of the process should be done which is an relief, I don't deal with all this waiting on hearing back-stuff all that well, LOL.

One of my betas has a brother who does professional book covers and she's talked him into making one for my novel which is such a sweet, incredibly generous gesture and I'm honestly stoked about it. She had me writing a blurb for the back which currently looks like this but is a work in progress still:

β€œFinally on my way somewhere, she thought to herself, looking out the windows of the Marseille – Paris train that was taking her home for the first time in fifteen years, and not merely for the sizzling heat of summer or the snowy chill of Christmas, not merely to visit. No, to stay.

She was very excited.”

When Sylvie Gallard is called home to Paris by her brother, Charles, for the first time in more than a decade, she sees it as an opportunity to finally reestablish a bond to her last remaining family, but when she realises that he is purposefully planning to get her hitched with his business partner, Armand Dubois, her dream of an idyllic life in her old childhood home begins crumbling. A process of ruination that is only worsened when she meets Eloisa Paolo, famed stage actress and furthermore, Charles’ squeeze.

Set in 1920’s Paris, this is a story of love, loss and self-discovery. For lovers of The Great Gatsby.

Last but not least, I'm waiting for my Napoli fic to get claimed for art for [community profile] smallfandombang, and gotten back to uploading my big Omina verse novel to AO3, so I'm keeping busy, I guess.

I did a lot of housecleaning this weekend. The most Creating I have done was making a new variation of cottage pie. It did turn out well. I made imitation ground beef out of tofu using this recipe. https://theeburgerdude.com/tofu-ground-beef/#mv-creation-157-jtr

I intended to mend some of my shirts that have holes in them but I didn't have the energy. Maybe tomorrow.

This week, I've mostly been participating in FAWM, and making songs. FAWM is a challenge much like NaNoWriMo, except it's about songwriting. The goal is to practice the art of writing songs, and if you get 14 during the month of February, you get bragging rights and a teeny tiny trophy next to your name on the site. And new songs to sing, if you like any of the ones you dreamed up, of course. The link to one of them is below. I'm not sure what coding I need, so if you want to listen to it, you may have to copy it and paste the url into your browser.

Also, for part of FAWM, I drew a postcard to send to another songwriter to use as a song prompt. It's not real perfect, but it was a fun visual art break from doing audible art.

I definitely have to move Yuuri's free skate to chapter 5 of Jeu des princesses, that's good to know

I have decided to learn a new skill. A skill that will probably mean having to learn Photoshop.

I want to make my own cross stitch patterns. Meaning, I would need to figure out how to do that, and then start with some super simple basic ones, and move on from there.

But this is an idea I'm toying with.
