Date: 2024-02-10 11:40 pm (UTC)Wow do I need to get my ass in gear on my brother's memory quilt. (And learn an easier way to do the binding. No way in hell am I doing that much hand sewing ever again.)
I did acquire backing fabric so that was something. Jo-Ann didn't have any chambray shirting I liked, so I went with actual quilting fabric in a nice powder blue.

Date: 2024-02-11 03:43 am (UTC)Urgh, I hear you on an easier way for binding. I don't even do quilts, and while part of the reason is that I desperately do not need Yet Another Fiber Art, a somewhat more practical part of the reason is that my sewing setup is just. Not at all conducive to machine quilting. And I refuse to do any substantial amount of sewing by hand. A little bit here and there to close some seams? Sure. Whatever I need for amigurumi? Fine. Anything beyond that? I am not falling for it.
Anyway, good luck! I hope you find a long arm sewing machine (for example) on sale somewhere.

Date: 2024-02-12 01:05 am (UTC)Also I have just this moment noticed I'll be using my Brother to make a quilt about my brother. Seems appropriate.

Date: 2024-02-11 03:50 am (UTC)On a related note,
In brickspace, I successfully rotated my mattress, changed and washed the sheets, washed all of my bathroom linens, and all of my other laundry! I still have to fold and store socks and underthings, but at the moment the only dirty clothes in my hamper are from yesterday.

Date: 2024-02-11 03:47 pm (UTC)Yay for laundry & rotating the mattress! I always forget thats some thing that your supposed to do. I still have to do my normal laundry. But how much laundry I can do depends on if my partner is feeling up to driving to the laundromat.

Date: 2024-02-11 04:17 am (UTC)One of my betas has a brother who does professional book covers and she's talked him into making one for my novel which is such a sweet, incredibly generous gesture and I'm honestly stoked about it. She had me writing a blurb for the back which currently looks like this but is a work in progress still:
Last but not least, I'm waiting for my Napoli fic to get claimed for art for

Date: 2024-02-11 09:09 am (UTC)This week, I've mostly been participating in FAWM, and making songs. FAWM is a challenge much like NaNoWriMo, except it's about songwriting. The goal is to practice the art of writing songs, and if you get 14 during the month of February, you get bragging rights and a teeny tiny trophy next to your name on the site. And new songs to sing, if you like any of the ones you dreamed up, of course. The link to one of them is below. I'm not sure what coding I need, so if you want to listen to it, you may have to copy it and paste the url into your browser.

Also, for part of FAWM, I drew a postcard to send to another songwriter to use as a song prompt. It's not real perfect, but it was a fun visual art break from doing audible art.

Date: 2024-02-12 03:08 am (UTC)I want to make my own cross stitch patterns. Meaning, I would need to figure out how to do that, and then start with some super simple basic ones, and move on from there.
But this is an idea I'm toying with.

Date: 2024-02-12 01:22 pm (UTC)I know there are software packages and websites for making designs. But beyond "20 years ago the software SUCKED" that is almost all I know.
MacStitch / WinStitch are the softwares I know of, and StitchFiddle is a website. And now you know everything I do! Good luck!
